If the Belmar first aid really cared about the Borough of Belmar and the surrounding neighborhood, the first aid would donate the property to the Borough of Belmar to be used as is as a first aid facility. After all, the property was donated to the Belmar first aid and has been subsidized by the
taxpayers of Belmar for close to 100 years. The first aid is forcing the mayor and council’s hand here by holding the first aid facility for ransom where the Borough is forced to purchase the facility for well over a million dollars that the current taxpayers of Belmar will be responsible for. The first aid will then take that money and donate it to a charity outside the Borough of Belmar. The mayor and council are doing the right thing for the Belmar taxpayers. Any responsible mayor would do the same thing.

I’m all for consolidation just not at that site. It would be terrible for the neighborhood.

Its funny that “bad faith” is used against the Boro, when Pringle and Franny Hines listed the bid they did not mention a deed restriction and the conditions, until the higher bidder withdrew their bid making the highest bidder the Borough. That must have been very upsetting to Pringle and Franny, so they had to figure out a way to try to control the situation, BINGO, all of a sudden deed restrictions. Where were those when it was going to be subdivided into three lots?????? Why is a memorial plaque and deed restrictions only important to Pringle and Franny when the Borough became the highest bidder. Where were those restrictions in the parameters to make a bid ????? Sounds like the people that are really the problem are the Pringle /Franny group, they are acting in bad faith and being more then difficult and worse not standing true to their word and changing the rules to suit them if situations change.

And I am vey disappointed that The rescue squads and fire departments can be referred to as “negative impact to the neighborhood” these are individuals that risk their lives and service our entire community, they are essential. If your house was on fire you would not feel negative impact would you? Please be respectful of the individuals that work so hard to be our community alive and safe. I can not believe that the BFAS would allow their attorney to write such disrespectful language in a correspondence then publish it on their website. Another example of how Mr.Hines is a phony, a hypocrite and is only looking out for himself as he has a personal grudge against the Borough and their employees/administrators.

Totally disagree with the previous commenters. This has been a planned government takeover since the beginning. At taxpayers expense. I am happy that BFAS is sticking up for their neighbors. I am disappointed that the Mayor feels the need to take over and install ex-cop buddies at every post around town. Enough is enough. Walsifer and his crew are ruining this town.

A good place for a combined firehouse would be the vacant Lake Como Police Dept Site.

#7- Great idea. Let the taxpayers of Lake Como pay to build it, for a change. Then the firehouse can lease it for $1 a year. Oh, wait, that would mean Lake Como taxes may go up for a change. Nah, never happen. Taxes down again in Lake Como as Belmars’ goes thru the roof. Do yourself a favor and vote for Jerry. He’s our only hope.
