Maybe they have no other choice. They may be forced to do this.

It is amazing how much damage to the town Walsifer and the current administration has been able to do in such short time.

They are not forced to do anything. It wasn’t a condemnable property a year ago, six months ago, or even now.

Do I think having three fire houses in a town our size is a little too much, yes. Do I think they can all fit on the half acre or whatever it is where the BFSA is, absolutely not.

The mayor, council, and BA blatantly tried to hoodwink everyone when it bid on the property, knowing the restrictions in the bid packet. Do not expand the non-conforming use, or build single-family homes. Trying to consolidate and house all that fire equipment seems like a pretty large expansion, and the town, as far as I’m aware, is not in the business of building homes. They lost. And now they’re trying to muscle that property into their hands any way they can. And what exactly did Walsifer say to Merkler to make him drop the bid. What was it, REALLY??

Seriously ? Waste the town’s and taxpayer’s money on a property that is not condemned ?
Maybe they should call Long Branch and get a refresher on how ED worked out for them.

Sounds like extortion on the part of the Belmar First Aid. Will they drop the lawsuit against Campbell too?

    #5 Yes, seriously.
    Uncontrolled development.
    Cancelling quality of life programs.
Having to be forced to provide summer camp and junior guards by a mob of angry moms.
Spending over $2 million taxpayer money when $40k would have done. Running the oldest first aid squad in the nation out of town.
Trying to build a bridge to nowhere on silver lake.
Forcing everyone in town to buy new recycling cans.
    Doing nothing about empty storefronts.
Giving away free boatslips and taxpayer-funded vehicles for personal use to cronies.
Trying to force historic firehouses to close.
    Trying to close the library.
    Closing the senior center.

Those are off the top of my head. The quality of life in this town is dramatically worse, and every decision they make seems to be worse for the residents (but good for him and his buddies).
