  1. So if those lots on 5th are worth in the 7s, the lots (where the Belmar Inn currently stands) on 12th are probably worth like 5 something. So why again do they need to have 20 condos? Thin profit margins? Haha
Tear down the Inn and put up some single family homes. You’ll make a nice hefty profit and save all the legal fees in the zoning battle. Win win.

  2. #1 and #2 you are both fools and ignorant. Look at the purchase price of the church that was closed on that lot versus the cost of the contract for the belmar inn, an ongoing business and 108 12th ave purchase price, with three lucrative rental properties. That is why it can not be single family homes.

Mr. Creamer you are always very demanding and opinionated, and critic others who are actually doing things or trying to. If you know better then everyone, are smarter then everyone and want to tell the world what they should do with their projects why not open your checkbook and put your own money where your mouth is, if your bank account is as big as your mouth you must be the richest guy in belmar, and the solution would be for you to invest your own funds on the advice you are offering

  3. #3- Well then leave it an ongoing business and call on the town leaders to do their jobs and have it cleaned up. By Edelman’s daughter’s own admission the owner of the Belmar Inn does not want to sell but is apparently entertaining this “get rich quick on the back’s of the Belmar residents” offer from the developers and builder.
And Mr. Creamer is aces in my book.

  4. The neighbors of the Inn want that dump to take the pressure off of who, what, where and when? For God’s Sakes the STNJ are in charge of inspections, licensing/mercantile regs, not Belmar Code Enforcement because it’s a Hotel that houses welfare cases, plus Governors Emergency Covid restrictions prevents removals.

  5. The borough can’t do anything about the Belmar Inn. If this proposal does not get approved the Belmar Inn will stay the same. The condos will look much better than the Belmar Inn, get rid of a huge drain on the borough and be a very beneficial upgrade for 12th Avenue! Let’s get rid of the Belmar Inn once and for all and build these condos!!

  6. #3, you are angry and rude. You are also misinformed. Stop insulting other commenters like Mr. Creamer, who go out of their way to research the issues before they comment. You obviously have a financial interest in the new Belmar Inn condos. Admit it.

  7. Just a couple of comments:

Edeldman Investment Group claims to be using the Edelman name only. Why do I think this is misleading. No one in their right mind would ‘loan’ their name to a company without some type of compensation.

Many, if not most, of the 12th ave residents agree that the Belmar Inn must go, yet the proposed condos are NOT the way forward.

The most vocal advocate for the condos is an Edelman that visits Belmar for 4-5 weeks each summer. She actually lives in Colorado according to knowledgeable sources.

  8. My family did not know that the developer was naming his LLC Edelman until his first zoning board meeting three years ago. We did not “loan” our name to him, and we are not getting any compensation! (Mavbe Julian Edelman is involved?!!) We are just residents of 12th avenue who support this proposal, as do many other 12th avenue residents.

  9. I live on 12th avenue year round and absolutely support the demolition of the Belmar Inn and construction of condominiums on that property! 12th Avenue is not a safe place to live while the Belmar Inn is still existing, and at this point it is a choice between The Belmar Inn remaining or the Condos replacing it. I also happen to like the condo design, and think it will be beneficial for 12th ave. and the entire borough!

  10. #15- Thanks for your point of view. And where exactly would you like these developers to continue to be be allowed to further invade this tiny Boro? West of Main St? North of 8th Ave? South of 13th Ave? Anywhere and everywhere? Jersey City, here we come. There is a reason the town is required to have and stick to a Master Plan. Water system. Sewer system. Utility capacity. Road system and maintenance. And so on and so on. Move if you don’t like your neighbors and the leaders of the town continue to refuse to give you the relief you, as a taxpayer, deserve from out of control businesses.

  11. #15#14 – Since you live on 12th, your opinion on this development certainly carries a lot of weight. But unfortunately this over wrought project will set a precedent that will affect the entire town. This is not just a 12th Ave issue, it is a Belmar issue. Even the Belmar Inn itself is a town wide problem. Unrestrained greed that changes the very nature of this town is something WE ALL need to take seriously.

  12. What’s with the socialist spouting Greedy this and greedy that? Do we live in Cuba pre1959? Better and happier those interest folks are they in 2021 poverty power country?
