Please no speed humps ! Those things are stupid. And I’m wondering, are there that many speeders whipping down those blocks This whole study seems like overkill.

The Belmar first aid has taken over the southern comfort station at the marina and the boat slip tenants are no longer allowed to use it even though their lease is good through December, at the same time we cover Lake Como for first aid and their first aid building sits empty, whoever is in charge is not doing a good job.

Speeding is a major problem all over this town. People, both locals and tourists, zip around these narrow roads at high speeds and often blow through stop signs. It’s dangerous and annoying. We all know what it takes to stop it. It’s not speed bumps. It’s enforcement. If the police in this town spend 60 days doing a highly publicized and highly visible crack down on speeders, people would stop speeding. We all know the towns or sections of highways where it’s not a good idea to speed, so we don’t. The Belmar police need to make Belmar that kind of town. The kind where everyone knows, through word of mouth or social media, do not speed. Unfortunately, though relatively easy, this plan has no political support from Walsifer. Like the communist USSR back in the previous century, trying to fix a problem is not allowed because it would mean admitting there is a problem in the first place. Belmar is perfect, there are no problems.

So do I have this correct ? The way this plan reads for 17th Avenue is that they’ll be a 3-way stop, then a speed hump, then a traffic light on Main Street ?! Wow- that won’t put traffic at a standstill! So dumb
