  1. At the Jan 28, 2025 Meeting there were 3 Ordinances on the Agenda for 1st Reading and vote. Shouldn’t they be on the Agenda for the Feb 19, 2025 Meeting for second reading and public comments with a vote?

  2. Does anyone know where the $$ is coming from for 2025-44. All those code numbers means nothing to the average person. And according to my friends here I’m below average

    1. It is ironically comical when a guy who hates the government in general and “all democrats” in particular doesn’t understand how roads get repaired.
Let’s just say it gets done, like literally thousands of things that you benefit from every day, through local, state, and federal tax dollars. But, as we watch an unelected billionaire dismantle government programs that he neither needs nor understands, perhaps the residents of 5th Ave will one day just have to all chip in and pay for it themselves. A terrifying prospect for all but the wealthiest citizens.

But, to answer your question, as it currently stands, repairs and maintenance (including bridges and tunnels) are covered through local, state, and federal taxes. Sometimes grants, but federal and state grants are just a euphemism for available tax dollars.

      1. You dope. Musk found plenty of wasted $$$. You are so up the ***, of the democrats you *****.

        (Asterisks are mine, Editor.)

        1. Hahaha. Yea I’m a dope. Musk received more than 10 billion in federal tax dollars. Billion, with a B. Did he cut any of that colossal waste? No he did not.
A great deal of people, yes people, that were laid off aren’t actually paid by tax dollars. They are paid through industry fees etc. Also, the government had to rehire hundreds of employees that were laid off by mistake. Costing millions. So the waste he’s “uncovering” is actually waste he’s causing. Keep an eye on the deficit, it will go up under Trump this time just as it did last time.

Meanwhile, inflation is on the rise, the economy growth is slowing down, the FDA, FAA, are frighteningly understaffed, and the president of the United States is taking Russia’s side in a war that THEY started by invading a sovereign nation. Reagan is spinning in his grave. And you call yourself a republican.
I responded to your question about road repairs. The fact that you don’t know how that’s paid for is very telling. Educate yourself. Please.

    1. Well, since the paving of 5th Ave is part of the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), that was passed back in 2021 (before he was mayor), I doubt it’s much of a story.
But hey, don’t let facts get in the way of a good story.

      1. Let’s not forget 7th Avenue. The condition of the street between C and Main is dangerous. This is a heavily used street by pedestrians and filling the potholes is only a temporary solution.

  3. All this squabbling will be meaningless if the idiot/fraudsters at doge have their way. Starlink will get 3 billion dollars and we won’t have money in the coffers to pave anything.
Maybe when the first bridge collapses, the 77 million Americans that voted for a grifting autocracy will publicly apologize to the 75 million of us who didn’t. I won’t hold my breath. The folks who voted for Doherty (our own personal Trump) still haven’t apologized for that.

      1. Haha yes. Right here in Belmar.

1st. Get rid of the “St Patrick’s Day” parade. Waste of time and money. And a pointless display of obnoxious public drunkenness.

        2nd (Deleted by Editor.)

3rd No more sea food fest. It’s a net loss for the town.

4th Turn over control of all beaches to the state. Reduce the lifeguard needs and get rid of the ridiculous badges.

5th Share services among the tiny towns. Street seeping, trash collection, plowing, etc.

  4. Are the Parade prats still rolling around in the H5N1 poopy parks adjacent to Lake Como and Silver Lake? More grant $ if you don’t remedy the fouling?
