Easy for you to make a snap remark. Remember the Mayor ran that he was going to be transparent. He took the logo off and then decided to change his mind to put it back. That’s a great thing. I’m sure he changed his mind because he realized the logo is beloved and it’s the identity of our town. It takes years to build a brand. The Belmar logo may not be important to you, but it ties the community together and that’s important to everyone.
We should all think of our community when making decisions.
How on earth do you know what you are suggesting? The Belmar website was not designed, nor is it managed by the mayor. Your assumptions are just that, assumptions. Assumptions based on an opinion. Completely devoid of fact or reason. You are right about one thing, the logo is not important to me. I don’t know why a town needs a logo, but maybe I’m old fashioned.
And, excuse me but build a brand?? Really? This is a municipal website not a bakery. The last mayor that tried to turn this town into a branded product was dirty Doherty. That didn’t go down very well. The one thing that Belmar is NOT lacking is recognition. As a lifelong resident (welcome btw, I assume you just moved here), I think we need to DE-BRAND. Enough with the influx already.
(Asterisks in the name are mine, Editor.)
I hope you crybabies are happy, your beloved wave is back, now go find something else to gripe about. Shouldn’t be hard for the lot of you.
Great job, Maria. Sorry to see you go.
I don’t blame you for stepping down. Why anyone would want that job is beyond me.
One last thing before you go, can you please put the BELMAR beautiful sea logo back onto the new website?
Please let that go. It’s a website for Pete’s sake. It now has the official town seal. The world isn’t ending, you will survive this.
