Comments

  1. The sound quality is because
1.people don’t know how to use tiny microphones
    2. tiny microphones that pick up speech perfectly are extremely expensive, and the school doesn’t spend frivolously
    3. the microphone for the moderator’s camera is of equal quality – not great.
Evidence of this is when someone is talking without the microphone and it’s clearer than when they use it.

Stop trying to make masks political. We all know “Masks are manditory in the school”. It’s not about the masks.

  2. Sorry about masks
    Sorry about a green glare.

OOOoooohhhhhh. What does the green glare MEAN???? Let’s put on our tin hats and solve that one next. (Since I think we’ve exhausted the mask sitch).

  3. #3 and #4- amen and amen. So sick of people whining about simple public safety measures. No one makes a political statement about removing shoes at the airport or buckling up in your car or obeying the speed limit or stopping at red lights or wearing clothes in public (that’s more decency than public safety, but same principle). One of the board members wasn’t wearing a mask. There is a law that masks be worn in the school. You don’t like the law? Lobby the state legislature. If you’re in the building, you wear a mask. If you found a ‘doctor’ that exempts you from wearing a mask, then you stay home and join the meeting remotely. Why anyone would campaign to be part of a public institution, yet can’t follow even the simplest rules, is beyond me. If you feel that masks don’t work or that having to wear one somehow equates to your ‘freedoms’ being violated (dumbest argument in the history of dumb arguments), then don’t wear one. Just don’t go to places that require them. It’s that simple.

  4. I have no problem wearing masks but when it interferes with the reason the building exists in the first place (to educate children) then I have a problem with it. Kids have a hard time understanding the teachers and I’m sure the teachers have a hard time hearing the students. That’s my beef with the masks in the schools. It interferes with a child’s ability to learn and that’s why the school exists. All the analogies ring hollow and are not applicable. Kids can’t learn effectively when they can’t understand their teachers.

  5. #7. Had two kids go through that school during mask mandates. Never, not once, did they complain about not hearing the teacher due to mask. Nor did the teachers ever complain about not hearing students (on the contrary actually). So if you basing that hollow argument on the sound quality of the attached video, please don’t. One day, if we all follow common sense public health rules, the mask mandate will end. If the biggest sacrifice you make during this pandemic is wearing a mask, then you are truly blessed. We have devolved into a society of selfish babies. What ever happened to ‘ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country’?

  6. Nancy Pelosi claims that she is running for office again “for the children”. Her big smile makes her credible. Right.

  7. #15 I gotta be honest, it feels great. I’m not a big fan of people that use BS divisive issues in order to win elections. I’m even less of a fan when those divisive issues are framed as ‘looking out for the children’. So when someone who does that resigns right after winning, I see it as poetic justice. It also serves as a wake up call (hopefully) to all the good people who fell for it. Maybe it is judgement, but I see it as celebrating the truth.
    Thanks for asking.
