Hey Anonymous #2, I think you’re posting on the wrong story.
As for the NY Lt Gov, she had to pick someone.
Maybe she didn’t know about his stance beforehand ?
I would think that the new Governor knew this man’s story, picked him because he is politically correct, appealing to the far left woke crowd, then in her political savvy, had to reposition and state her views to not alienate the reasonable voters who know the value of law enforcement. At lease I hope so.
Regarding my earlier reference to Curtis Sliwa, New York City has a huge number of voters, many of whom are tired of the crime wave and lawlessness tolerated by DeBlasio’s administration. Could be that she does not want the Democrats to look so oblivious to the reality of social decay in NYC. I am expressing some hope here, not my disdain for the Democratic mismanagement across the board.
#4 How long have you been living in NYC? That’s what I thought, you don’t.
This blog has no shortage of folks who pontificate on matters they know nothing about. You’re not gonna hear me going on about what it must be like to live in Texas. I don’t live there so I don’t know. Same goes for you my friend.
#7 I am amused that you think that you know me and where I have lived – a long time dweller of NYC, my friend. In fact, I worked for the government of NYC. First three letters of “assume” apply to those who make statements about people they don’t know.
Likewise, there is no shortage of leftie liberal commenters (I “assume”, my bad) who seem to feel that their points of view are the only valid ones, and also feel they must attempt to disparage and belittle anyone who expresses a conservative point of view. Part of the left’s agenda is to divide and conquer, starting with creating dissent and oppressing verbally those they disagree with. Loss of free speech? Hope and pray that does not happen.
#8,9 spare me the sanctimonious lecture. So you once upon a time lived in NYC. That makes you an expert on what it’s like to live in NYC today? I’m sorry, it don’t. I lived in Philadelphia for years, I haven’t the foggiest idea of what it’s like to live there now and I would never pretend that I do. And claiming that you know what’s happening in a place you don’t currently reside isn’t ‘conservative point of view’. It’s called speaking out of class. And it is done by conservative blow hards and bleeding heart liberals alike. And me calling you out for doing it isn’t violating your ‘free speech’ (it never ceases to amaze me how the people that constantly cry about their free speech rights don’t seem to understand the first amendment). It’s no different than if someone who moved out of Belmar years ago and now resides in, oh I don’t know, Florida; and they got on this blog and started pretending they know what it’s like to live here. I think we would all, collectively, ask that person to put a sock in it.
#11. Haha. Ok. If you truly live in NYC full time, I apologize for suggesting otherwise. Why you’re on this blog and comment on Belmar stuff, I’ll never know. Lastly, when people misinterpret the first amendment and play politics rather than try to understand the complexities of life, that never makes me feel good.
Perhaps that move is designed to edge into Curtis Sliwa’s stance about crime, just a bit. The new L.G. was for ending cash bail as well.

She should have thought of that before she appointed him. Duh
