Verizon has been working on this for years

After the 5G towers are installed,
will Verizon do what it was trying to do in 2018-
Bring free WiFi to our Beach and Boardwalk?
What data would they then have access to?

Here is the article by Cathy Goetz dated January 22, 2018

  1. All part of Mcdirty’s Boardwalk Empire! Ugh, mcdirty… Now the connected worm has been seen riding his running pal Fulop’s train all the way to Trenton, again. Tools, you people don’t realize that you are puppets to the machine.

  2. Agreed, Dirty Doherty who never (deleted by Editor) will ride the coattails of his friend Fulop for another high paying do nothing job in Trenton. A vote for Fulop is a vote for Dirty Doherty.

  3. Does anyone know how much Lipo batteries are stored in the Mayfair cell tower basement? Can you imagine how big a fire there would be? Do the residents living near the know what is there? I have heard there are over 2,000 pounds of batteries there. That is an ancient building. I hope the battery room is fireproof, so a structural fire would not spread to a cell tower battery fire.

  4. And don’t think Matts buying Tap into isn’t part of the plan. Notice how he never mentioned his administration opened the door to Verizon in the article entitled “Verizon seeks to put 20 5g poles along Belmar beachfront”. Dated March 29th 2023.

  5. Don’t forget that all the over building stemmed from the Doherty administration. Fifth Avenue, 9th Avenue and 10th Avenue… all under his administration. Their goal was to raise the population to be eligible for government funding. It’s no wonder the focus has always been on the little town of Belmar because the Doherty connections had long tentacles. Sadly you people blamed it on Walsifer but, the core of the problem stemmed from the Democrats. Let’s see what Uncle Buc can do!!

  6. Long Tentacles. Who’s living in any of these new apartments on government funding? Are you including Social Security? The concept was to provide alternative housing for those that couldn’t afford $1M+ homes(now $2M+) but wanted to live in Belmar. Those who wanted to downsize after selling their homes. Not to maximize density which is what it has become.

Doherty’s mistakes were granting PILOT deals to the 5th, 8th and 10th Ave apartments that infused money into the Borough at the expense of the School. Supported his ‘No new taxes!’

Next, giving the developers 4th floors (at 9th, 10th and the 12th Ave Belmar Inn plus a 5th floor for the Belmar Motor Lodge potential redevelopment) has a profound effect on density and building heights.

The 5th and 8th Ave projects fit the Seaport Development Plan.

And the White House property is on 2 lots that was zoned for 2 single family or 4 Townhomes but they appealed, and got 6 Townhouses. It’s all in the math, 3 residential levels instead of 2 = 50% more revenue. 6 Townhomes instead of 4 = 50% more. It’s all about maximizing ROI.
Mark W campaigned on getting overdevelopment under control. He did stop the PILOTS but he owns 9th, Belmar Inn and the Belmar Motor Lodge plans. He’s not the Mayor anymore.

  7. Belnar has no control over Mayfair. Code Enforcement is under STNJ auspices. Check their inspections. Maybe mcdirtys connections protect them too?

  8. #5 while you are right that some of these huge projects, and several dubious development attempts, were passed under the McDirty admin, others (12th Ave and 9th Ave) were passed under the Walsifer admin. And let’s not forget that the Walsifer admin voted, without a hint of logic, to INCREASE the height restriction at the Mediterranean site. You are clearly a partisan who likes things in neat little boxes. The world doesn’t work that way. And, unfortunately, people who single-mindedly support party over truth are actually causing the problems we face. The political class absolutely loves watching the electorate squabble over BS party identity and culture war nonsense. It keeps them from facing the harsh light of true accountability. So, while you pretend that one side is absolutely good, and the other side is absolutely bad, we will always have a failing government. There is no ‘party’ there are only good ideas and bad ideas.
