  1. Thank you, Mr. Creamer, you are a true asset. But why is it that a resident had to contact the state for these determinations and not our illustrious elected officials and/or BA, particularly the previous lot in office? Does anyone have any info on whether this was determined under former admin?

  2. 2 of the 3 questions do not require a Permit by Verizon according to DEP but a CAFRA permit is required for work within 150′ of a dune or high water line.
May not be that difficult to obtain for the 20 poles (not a building or structure). Just an eye sore.

  3. Gene your efforts to obtain the truth, facts and accuracy for the community of Belmar are always greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

  4. July 13, 2023 meeting – Monmouth County passed a resolution addressing 5G deployment, referencing Belmar, calling for a countywide master plan.

    Thoughts?

Seems a countywide 5G study and master plan is possibly an effective delay tactic, but the 40K foot view reveals a probable goal of past and current maneuvering: statewide regulation.

    2023 status report:

    • Belmar = fire starter.

    • Monmouth’s balk via above resolution, etc. = Trenton’s excuse for fast-tracking statewide regulation of 5G deployment.

S1487/A471 has thus far been collecting dust during the current session. However, a previous iteration came close to passing 2 years ago during FY22 wrangling.

Given the history and various other factors (i.e. legislative retirements,) it could move through the NJ Senate and Assembly faster than you can say ‘lame duck.’

  5. Embrace the NJDEP! … glad we got this JD before Verizon attorneys march to Trenton … ‘flexing FCC muscles’.

      1. This ‘absurd restriction’ may save us from these eyesores. I know that you want to hang on to your anti-government anti-environmentalist posturing. But you can thank the government AND environmentalists for CAFRA. Sorry my friend, can’t have it both ways.

Thank you Gene! You pointed out what should have been obvious to our current and previous administrations.

          1. CAFRA was passed BY the government to hold the private sector in check. Do you really not know how laws work?
Laws like CAFRA protect the public from greedy companies, like Verizon.

  6. It was the need to get our signature on the CAFRA permit application that triggered the County’s involvement. We could not certify that Belmar owned the sites of installation so Belmar could not provide consent and that stalled the process.

    1. the consent of the public right-of-way ‘owner’ on a CAFRA permit application would be nice … but not necessary.

the FCC license holder (Verizon) can rely on federal eminent domain powers

  7. Shouldn’t that letter have been from Big Boy Mayor B? No because he is not capable of formal humane communication. Thank you, Gene.

    1. What about the last mayor? You know, the one that really cemented this ridiculous situation. The one who recommended his county overlord, Declan O’Scanlon should be the one to construct the towers. Mr O’Scanlon owns a telecommunications consulting company.
      The democrat is bad? Hahahaha.
Donate to O’Scanlon. Help pay for the 20 5G towers. Bahahahah 🐑

      1. You do realize the previous admin was told by a judge that the 5G towers can’t be stopped. The current mayor can put whatever political spin on this he wants. He thinks most people are stupid apparently.

        1. This tower job has been going off for years. And yes, it seemed as though fighting it was a lost cause. So, the last admin was resigned to the inevitability. Now there is some momentum towards the possibility, however small, to actually stop VZ from turning this town into their own personal ATM. Is that political spin? Maybe. But where the last admin gave up, this admin, with the help of dedicated Belmar citizens including in no small part the woman that filled Brennan’s seat, are fighting hard to stop the towers.
You can give up. You can use politics to justify giving up. But there are folks in this town who are putting partisan politics aside and working together to fight against a common enemy. I don’t think the mayor believes most people are stupid. Me, personally, I believe that a significant number are. Maybe not stupid, but definitely close minded and sequestered in their own little idealogical enclaves. Angry at the wrong people for the wrong reasons.
If you can lend a hand in the fight, please do. If you don’t want to, don’t blame those that do.
