  1. Very sad the way the current mayor and council is treating our volunteers. Someone please record this one, the town YouTube stream will be ******** ** ******.

(Asterisks are mine, Editor. And yes, I will be recording.)

    1. You wanna elaborate? This mayor and current council are treating the volunteers poorly? In what way, exactly? With that kind of accusation, a little detail is necessary.
I hope this isn’t just an evidence free opinion repackaged as fact.
One thing the world needs less of is ideological opinion disguised as objective truth.

      1. The firehouses have been in disrepair for decades. It may be time to consolidate and put everyone under one roof. Three separate houses are not needed. If everyone works together it could be done. Lets see!

  2. Hmmm. Does the volunteer FD receive tax dollars? One would assume they do. Wonder what these dire issues are. One problem may be the archaic structure. These days of fire suppression and building code fire mitigation standards have made actual fires a very rare occurrence. Perhaps we don’t need multiple fire houses like we did in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Maybe they should consider consolidating into one central firehouse instead of three separate locations all within four block of was other. Would certainly help save money, if that is the dire issue.

    1. We should get rid of the volunteer first aid too. Oh wait. Remember the stink made over that? Anyone?

      1. Never said we should get rid of volunteer FD. Just consolidate. The days of needing three separate fire houses is long gone. One centralized fire house. All volunteer, like now. If you’re gonna put words in my mouth, try harder.

That’s is IF this dire situation is due to money. If not, keep it the way it is.

  3. I’d like to know if any of their concerns were brought up to, or addressed by, the previous administration/s. How long overdue are we talking? Jerry & Company have been here for 7 months, you’re telling me everything has only JUST NOW gotten dire? I’m looking forward to the meeting tomorrow.

    1. Lets not hear any of this “prior admin” nonsense. Every single meeting we have to sit and hear that. If there were issues we probably should have heard about them in the budget meeting. This is the CURRENT ADMIN.

      1. I agree. Its time for this Mayor to stop playing the blame game and start saying what he is going to do or what a solution would be.

        1. I think it’s a valid argument, because whatever it is, it’s going to cost us money.
