  1. On page 8 of the Appraisal Report the 2 most significant errors or oversights were under “Environmental Hazards: None observed or reported” and “Soil Conditions: We are unaware of any unusual or adverse soil conditions”.
How did the Appraiser miss that the property is on the NJ DEP list of Hazardous Sites in need of remediation? It was used as a gasoline station and service garage for decades.
On page 1 the “Final Value Estimate: $1,200,000” was based on the “Highest and Best Use: Continued as a service garage”.
Does anyone believe that a potential buyer would have purchased this property for $1,200,000 to continue as a garage?
Does this Appraisal justify the Belmar purchase?

    1. Great observations, very much appreciated that you pointed that out.
So many questions about this purchase.

      1. The simple fact is that no one would touch this property for over four years at that purchase price in a hot Real Estate market. It seems the residents knew a lot more about the value than this independent, professional assessor that most likely isn’t independent, and as the first commenter pointed out didn’t really do the job of a professional and dig deep enough, or perhaps turned a blind eye to what they were instructed to turn a blind eye to?
It reminds me of that “independent traffic study” done by Dynamic Engineering of Lake Como when The Mediterranean Project was proposed at Route 35 between 10th and 8th Avenues. They said turning a public road AND a NJ Transit right of way that is West Railroad Avenue into a private driveway for the proposed monstrosity would have little impact on additional traffic on 8th Avenue coming off Route 35! LMAO!! When the railroad crossing was redone on 8th Avenue thereby eliminating the left turn onto East Rairoad Avenue alongside The Senior Building, it increased traffic. Once again, the residents, especially those in that neighborhood and longtime Belmartians- well, at least the ones who don’t let political partisanship interfere with common sense, and that’s most of us nowadays- knew better than the well paid “professionals” that this assessment was B.S.!
In fact, Colleen Palus who’s now on The Belmar Environmental Commission, and whose family owns Dynamic Engineering of Lake Como, recently asked AT A COUNCIL MEETING OF ALL PLACES that an “independent engineering study” be performed on the proposed Verizon 5G beachfront towers. So soon after the freebie to Doherty with Taylor Pavilion, and after “Merrimakers” wanted a five year lease on the pavilion as soon as the Democrats gained office. You know, the same Merrimakers Catering that Colleen Connely our old Belmar Business Administrator under Doherty is involved with?!? Maybe Dynamic Engineering can do that “independent” engineering study ‘pro bono’ to make up for the Taylor Pavilion concession freebie- sorry $3bie- to Matt Doherty’s “not for profit” organization.
The parade of entitled hyper-partisan one-percenters from the “Belmar Beltway” just doesn’t seem to stop. Now Katrina Clapsis and Mr. Lonergan who’s lived here full-time for four months and seems to know everything are shilling for Mike Campbell and Galaxy Geese Patrol?!? (“Today, Silver Lake. Tomorrow The Galaxy!!”) Because they need “more, more, more” while they exclaim, “Give to me, me, me!” It’s sad really, folks who see the community as an opportunity. They know these people are not only lacking in *********, but no amount of money, attention, pensions, titles, companies to run, Chanel couture or power suits to wear, or homes on or near the water will satisfy their thirst for more in our small town where 80% of us accordioned somewhere in the middle, just want to rid OUR town of the graft, lies, and greed from the “underprivileged power brokers” with their hands out for handouts.
Yeah, that stupid, ridiculously thought out and executed decision by our latest Mayor and Council to give former Mayor Matt Doherty something for nothing- well for a few dollars more to be accurate- opened the floodgates for the me, me, me, measelies. Congratulations to the self-proclaimed “elite” in Belmar. You’ve made our community a punchline to jokes told by members of surrounding communities.

P.S.- Dr. Kinney; We’ll talk at the next council meeting; Also, do you think I was looking for a job in the new administration like yours and John Sabia’s “handlers” were telling you?!? I doubt I’ll even be going to The Mayor’s Ball this year. If I do it’ll be to watch the current Mayor’s handlers cringe and cower and fortify the bubble he’s now in. Especially the Far Lefties who believe the 5G towers if built will interfere with migrating birds and harm whales and dolphins but think the offshore wind turbine farms are a GREAT idea! They certainly wouldn’t want to give up their spots at elbow rubbing fundraising parties on Inlet Terrace with Vin Gopal and Corey Booker, or want to piss off Hudson County Democrats. That would be a tragedy of honesty among the radical liberal elite in town, now wouldn’t it? The mass formation fear and psychosis is strong with those people.
The list of the hypocrites is long and distinguished on both ends of the radical political spectrum in town. It’s shameless as well as embarrassing.
They should give T-shirts out to these people that say “Belmar King… have it your way” whenever they come to the podium during council meetings asking for handouts.

        (Asterisks are mine, Editor.)

          1. Let’s not proclaim ourselves a “Belmar King” and then criticize someone else’s emotional reaction when speaking about a group of men and women they revered that aren’t here on this Earth any longer and that your self proclaimed kingship would cower to if you ever met them in the days they walked this world my darling little keyboard commando, leader of Meal Team Six at the Belmar Fishing Club buffet, and wise and great Ruler of The Blogosphere”.

        1. Mr Mac
I’m pretty sure the folks against the 5g towers and the windmills are from the same political camp. Or at least there is a large section of the Venn diagram that contains the same political ideology. You make it sound like the ‘lefties’ are for the wind towers but against the Verizon towers. It, like the real world, is infinitely more complicated than that. We shouldn’t place people in marginal categories based on personal interests. It is possible to be for legal abortion but against illegal immigration. It is possible to be a fiscal conservative but celebrate same sex marriage.
You are right about the political elite existing on BOTH sides of the aisle.
But you seem overly angry about it all. There are things to be angry about for sure. But we all need to work together, and accept differences of opinion, in order to make a more perfect union. When we sincerely believe that our OWN personal views are the only truth, well that’s where we get tangled up.

          1. If you can’t see how the WEF is pushing the industrialization of the shallow seas through The Biden Administration, down through The Murphy Administration, and along with the Far Left Green Energy Agenda right down to local Democrats that see the dead whales and the destruction of an ecosystem as well as the commercial fishing industry as a good thing you’re blindly misinformed of the dangers of this boondoggle. Enjoy your place in the “mass formation”.

As far as the parallel and hypocrisy I drew, you don’t seem to understand the direct correlation to a member of The Far Left recently appointed to The Belmar Environmental Commission thinking 5G short range cellular signals can have a negative effect on whales and dolphins and that a study should be done and a moratorium on the towers should be put forth; That was her opinion, idiocy, fake-truth, lack of science, or whatever you’d like to relabel it from you’re “why can’t we all just get along” high horse to make it fit for public consumption. Yes, most Belmartians are against the Verizon towers, but for REAL reasons, and not for a made up fairy tale to line their pockets. Meanwhile, when they start pile driving for the offshore windfarms, the low frequency vibrations that travel thousands- yes, thousands of miles underwater- will make the whales disappear for many years to come. That’s happened the world over with marine construction. There are about a dozen other reasons they are an absolute horrible idea and the first and foremost being there are scalable wind powered electric generators already in use but the Global Elites do not own the patents on them. I’d give you the other reasons but from the way you comprehend and digest what you read, you wouldn’t be able to process much more of the facts and you’d only label them opinion and preach “peace, love, and happiness” while the elites pillage behind you in your ivory tower while you lecture folks who know better and will not continue the march toward the cliff of geopolitical and global economic doom. It’s 2023. If you can’t figure out what’s wrong with the world by now, you’ll be food or fodder in the next few years for the evil to come, and it will come.
I too thought the windfarms were a great idea just a handful of months ago but like you, I was suffering from The Dunning-Kruger Effect. Once I began extensive research into the facts and spoke to a long list of duty experts including analysts formerly with the CIA, what I found out once these folks pulled my head out of my @$$ for the first time regarding The Green Energy Agenda was profound.
Remember now my “opinion” in my November 8, 2021 address to the Belmar Mayor and Council after consulting with the same duty experts on my call list, email contacts, and social media accounts was that we were at the lowest point of global conflict in history but that over 70% of the world’s governments were moving to more autocratic rule- including our own which would bring about hard consequences for the future.” Now we are over twenty months into the future and we have World War III by proxy, the largest humanitarian crisis in Europe since World War II, a climatological bombshell about to let loose that Carbon has a minor footprint on and Space Weather is the driving force on, a UFO/UAP Disclosure that through ontological shock most cannot wrap their minds around although happily over 60% of Americans are on board with.
If I told you where my same expert sources- some right here in Belmar- say where we will be in twenty more months from now, folks like yourself would simply laugh and dismiss it once again as opinion- my opinion when once again I’m simply the messenger for a large group of people that truly know how the world operates at this stage in the game. You see, folks like yourself are the true problem. Because folks like yourself give the misogynistic political wolves the reason to keep preying upon the weak. When they come for you and yours soon don’t worry, we’re already prepared with a plan. The only thing you’ll need to do then is lead, follow, or get out of the way.
“Apocalypse” doesn’t mean global annihilation. It means “unveiling” or “revealing” and The Great Awakening I spoke of in that same address in 2021 in now in full swing with the merger of Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing. Klaus Schwab and The Great Reset will not triumph over what is soon to come. You know where to find me when you finally want to open your eyes to the facts.
You’re damn right I’m angry about it because of people like yourself whose counterarguments are full of fluff, personal attacks against only me when I represent a large group when I come here to disseminate information. Folks like you are the very reason forming a more perfect union is a pipe dream because you refuse to eject the “serial takers” from the process because they are your friends and neighbors and you think that makes you a better person than me. I told them to get lost as soon as I realized what they were truly about. Compliant people are exactly who they want on their side and they certainly have one in you. Beware however, when they get done with bleeding folks like myself they’ll turn on you as well because it’s never enough for them. That’s how we’ve arrived to this point in history and once again, “Belmar is a microcosm of what is taking place in the world.”

          2. Mr Mc
Wow. I am so sorry for suggesting that people with different opinions about things may need to work together. So that’s bad? Got it, thank you. I mean clearly your computer screen research is beyond reproach. And since you have it all figured out, I won’t need to point out that the elites, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, and Larry Page, that you willingly patronize, have all developed some pretty incredible algorithms. These algorithms have but one purpose: to keep you on their sites, platforms, search engines, for as long as possible. I’m not going to explain to a man of your dizzying intellect how those algorithms work because it must be something you already know. No need to point out the obvious pitfalls of algorithm induced internet rabbit holes, because there is no way you would fall into something like that. No way.
I’m just a simpleton. I stupidly read articles about, and listen to interviews of, marine biologists. You know, those people who have literally dedicated their lives to studying and protecting whales. I know I know, they are probably deep state operatives who were recruited by shadow agencies as children, put through school, forced into programs of advanced degrees in marine science, and are now actors in a decades old con to have windmills everywhere. However, in the off chance that these folks are really just marine scientists who are experts (not supposed to trust experts. Until you need one) at understanding whales, I do listen to what they say.
You better sit down for this.
Pollution, boat traffic, lawn chemicals, off shore oil rig disasters (offshore oil rigs use the same sounding equipment at wind farms btw) disease, and good old fashion hunting, kills whales. Lots of em. Now I understand that the men and woman who spend their lives studying whales are no match for the key board commandos with a website and endless time on their hands, but I’m gonna go with the former. Sorry, I’ll just keep living in the dark.
Incidentally, while there are lots and lots of land based wind farms in the US (the state with the most is that bastion of liberal elites, Texas) there are but two off shore wind farms in the US. One off Block Island and one off Virginia. The one on Block doesn’t work. The one in Virginia does. Neither was planned and implemented during the Biden administration. Neither killed any whales.
Lastly, may want to take a break from the internet for a while. Just sayin

          3. Of course Texas is the leader because it’s huge and because it’s partly desert, but also because Big Oil and Windustry and Uranium Nuclear Energy are financed by the same multinationals and global elites. No matter who wins, they make money. They DON’T make money if we use Thorium Molten Salt Reactors or motionless wind boxes that use ionization that they DON’T have the patents on.
You want algorithms? The National Security Agency developed an algorithm for the future in 2012 that no matter what variables they plugged into the equation it all ended in the unravelling of “their” control over the masses in the mid-2020s! “They” know their time is coming to an end and that The Great Awakening is in full swing. They know the merger of Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence will reveal just how many of your Marine Biologists were paid off just like our local engineers when it comes to pushing a political agenda from The WEF.
I don’t have to work with people like you and the woman from the environmental commission that think a short range microwave tower that has to be repeated EVERY block actually has the ability to interfere and harm migrating cetaceans because the Harvard Scientist she sourced said so?!? It’s called common sense! It doesn’t have the range and the science is being bastardized and compromised by the system as well as elites because those scientists that you speak of are afraid of losing their research grants. Money, money, money! More, more more!
Another reason I don’t have to work with folks like you or her is because it will all begin to play out in the next year and when things begin to reveal themselves that you’ve dismissed as conspiracy theory for years and The Great Awakening becomes a reality, you’ll be the first to suffer ontological shock with the rest of the sheep following the false prophets of profiteering.
A series of global chain reactions that the NSA, CIA, the mystics in The Near East, the Yogis of Far East, the true clairvoyants, the Particle Scientists at CERN, the remote viewers of the world, the Quantum Theorists, the theologians, NASA space weather monitors, Vedic Astrologers, UFO/UAP disclosure insiders, and the biologists who aren’t bought and paid for has already begun a shift to a higher vibrational realm in the world. When all these different folks are all saying the same thing then it’s time the rest of us listened. They all believe that by 2027 it will be revealed who we truly are as humanity and it is not who we think. We’ve been lied to by the very same structure and entities for almost our entire existence and now when we find out, the world by 2030 will not resemble what we have today. The change will be rapid and all encompassing. You heard it here first. Just sayin’… 😉

For anyone out there who can tell by themselves and their intuition that something is truly amiss in this world and that we are entering a new and great age of awareness, you’re welcome to come check out “Average American Mystic” on Facebook which is a public page concerning The Great Awakening and does NOT concern any politics. I promise that you will find profound life affirming and life changing information there to easily implement and push through the transition to come soon. Thank you for your support.

          4. Mr Mac
Ok, where to begin. So why not go off grid with your Thorium Molten Salt Reactors or motionless wind boxes? (Both of which will take off as long they work). You could be free of the elites that are controlling everything and keeping us all from reaching our true human potential. You are clearly unhappy in this particular construct. And it would enable you to remain ontologically pure. Unlike the rest of us.
I have to say, your rhetoric reminds me of a documentary I watched about *** *****. Now, I’m not saying you are like *** *****, and before you say it, the low budget 25 year old documentary was most likely paid for by the same billionaire global elitists that are going around paying marine biologists to sell out their entire profession (marine biologist are know almost exclusively for their willingness to take a bribe). But Jones said many of the things you’re saying. He gave time lines “in a year the true awakening will come”, “in 10 years the earth will reveal its true form” and so on and so on. This type of rhetoric is as old as time itself. When 2027 comes and goes without any real change to the way we live our lives, you’ll have an excuse. There is always an excuse.
Because the real truth, the sad and uncomfortable truth, is the the world is kind of boring. It would be so much better if this harsh reality where we all just live our dull lives and work and spend and drink and screw, was actually a veil covering our eyes to the truth. A fake Truman Showesque world where we are the star of some reality that we aren’t aware of. A Matrix inside of which we are just microchips for a large all knowing computer. Because that would make life less painful. You are not the first person to go on about this awakening, you will not be the last. This has been happening since we have recording of the first human form of written language, around 3400 BC.
You are right about one thing, the rich exploit the poor. Not exactly an earth shattering revelation. That too has been happening since about 3400 BC. But you are not being oppressed. Hell, you’re a white male, like me, you have no idea what it’s like to be oppressed.
The unfortunate truth is that people can be horrible to one another. The fortunate truth is that people can be remarkably kind to one another. Life isn’t all that complicated. Wake up, contribute, be kind, repeat. There is no ghoulish Spector controlling our lives. There is no cabal of evil geniuses keeping you down. You can self promote your social media platforms and your you tube shows, no one will stop you.
You have gone into an internet vortex. A world of conspiracies and secret truths. A world that is so easy to believe in because the real one kinda sucks. Yes some conspiracies are true, most are not. The ones that are true are typically just revealing some massive hypocrisy among the rich and powerful. The rest are invented to help us all cope with not having to deal with the fact that the world can be, like I said, boring.

Good luck to you sir. I recommend you give the computer a rest, but I don’t think you will. I look forward to 2027 and the detailed explanations as to why it looks remarkably like 2023. I hope you find some success with your social media pages and your you tube channels. I hope the all controlling wizards don’t catch wind of what you are up to. I assume they would not want this information revealed to the general public? It’s hard to keep track.
May the force be with you.

            (Asterisks are mine, Editor.)

          5. Mr Mac
I’m guessing, by reading your comment (yes, I actually read the entire thing), that you don’t know what an algorithm is. The NSA would plug numbers into an ‘equation’ not an algorithm. I’m surprised that the NSA would share with you that they have noticed, through a math equation, that they will ‘lose control’ in the ‘mid 2020s’ (now essentially). That is so cool that you have that kind of inside information with the federal government. It’s is a little scary that they are sharing that kind of information with a civilian. Unless you made it up to make a convoluted point. No way. Right?
There is so many other things wrong about your inner musings that I don’t have the time to go through them one by one.
Let’s just say that the VZ 5G towers planned along ocean Ave are opposed by the residents of Belmar for the following reasons:
They are hideous. There are way too many of them. They are pointless. They are unnecessary. They are a money grab by a giant corporation. They are using Belmar as a test lab. They are unnecessary. They are overkill. They are unnecessary (did I say that already?)
There are some folks in town (both left leaning and right leaning) who believe that the 5G frequency will have a deleterious effect on our brains. I’m not one of them. I am in the ‘they are 100% pointless’ camp. Before you go insulting the folks who believe the the 5g frequency may be harmful, you should have empathy for those who have concerns about the dangers of a project without actual evidence. Whales, windmills.
I know I know. BUT THE INTERNET SAID THAT THE WHALES ARE BEING KILLED BY THE BOATS THAT CHECK THE OCEAN FLOOR!!!!! It’s ok it’s ok. There are a lot of reasons to be against offshore wind farms. If pretending to give a crap about whales is the one you choose, go for it. I’m against the VZ towers. If someone else is against them too, I really don’t care why. I’m just happy for the support.
The rest of your screed sounds like every other disgruntled individual since the dawn of man. The world will reveal itself on (enter date here), we only have until (enter date here) before everything we know will change. Yada yada.
2027 will come and it will go. The blue marble we live on will keep spinning, the rich will exploit the poor, politicians will lie to keep their jobs, corporations will do what they need to do to make a profit, dictators will rise and fall. There will be a flash in the pan hit song. There will be a new show to stream. There will be misguided individuals who lose themselves in the dangerous world of online posts and social media (Deleted by Editor).
There will be no revelations. There will be no change in the higher vibrational realm, no great awakening. When nothing happens, you will have a long winded rationalization as to why nothing happened. Or you’ll have already moved onto the next thing you’re angry about.

          6. I know. You’re the expert because you’re suffering from the Dunning-Kruger Effect as I too was years ago.
Once again, I’m simply the messenger. The NSA, the CIA’s declassified site, NASA, and the UFO/UAP Disclosure insiders are all in agreement that the world, it’s governments, and its geopolitical and economic structures will not resemble anything like they are today. Good luck.

Anyone interested can take a look at any YouTube interview with Stephan Schwarz who established and was in charge of the CIA’s “Project Gateway” in the early 1970s and you too will begin to awaken. UFO/UAP Disclosure’s coming ramifications is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the changes coming for mankind within the decade. All the facts are coming out; All the feelings will no longer matter.

          7. Mr Mac
Legitimate past predictions of current times by respected, intelligent individuals:
“The future human will be a Cyclops.”
“Grandchildren of the television age won’t be able to read.”
“Every medical malady will be treatable with a miracle pill.”

Here are a few of the literally thousands of predictions of the world ending or changing that have been posited since dawn of man:

Among the most prolific modern predictors of end times, Harold Camping has publicly predicted the end of the world as many as 12 times based his interpretations of biblical numerology.

Taiwanese religious leader Hon-Ming Chen established Chen Tao, or True Way, a religious movement that blended elements of Christianity, Buddhism, UFO conspiracy theories, and Taiwanese folk religion. Chen preached that God would appear on U.S. television channel 18 on March 25, 1988, to announce that he would descend to Earth the following week in a physical form identical to Chen.

Religious leader William Miller began preaching in 1831 that the end of the world as we know it would occur with the second coming of Jesus Christ in 1843.

I’m sure Mr Schwartz is a very nice man. But he doesn’t have the ability to predict the future any more than I do. Hey, I think it would be cool to think about the possibility of UFOs changing the way we live. It would make getting up and going to work every morning less tedious. Unfortunately, that ain’t how it works. Only attempts to control, not predict, the future are possible, and only on a very personal level. Changing behaviors, working out, getting healthy, getting a degree, learning something new. And even then, there is no guarantee that anything specific will happen.
Whether it’s “by 2027” (about 3.5 years from now) or your more recent prediction, “in the next decade or so” (noticeably more vague) , neither you, Mr Schwartz, the internet, or Shirley McClain can predict the future.

          8. The Dunning- Kruger effect is often misunderstood. It appears by your writing that you believe it to be some kind of mass delusion based on a lack of intelligence. A sort of overconfidence in general knowledge due to a lack of, well, smarts.
In actuality, it identifies a specific overconfidence of people unskilled at a particular task. A good example would be someone who believes they know what is right in a particular subject like science, when in actuality their own overconfidence betrays them. It is the main ingredient necessary to believe in conspiracies. A confidence in one’s ability to master a subject or topic at which they are unskilled. The statistical model explains the empirical findings as a statistical effect in combination with the general tendency to think that one is better than average. The rational model holds that overly positive prior beliefs about one’s skills are the source of false self-assessment. It can create a situation whereby a person with overconfidence in their own abilities will misinterpret information on topics like politics, science, business, or medicine.

            I hope this helps.

          9. I’m glad you spent most of your beautiful Friday that I spent outdoors trying to convince the folks here you’re an intellectual and that once again it’s all about me when I’m simply delivering the message from government insiders much more intelligent than your fabulously off the mark mental Ju-Jitsu will ever make you appear. These people have been fighting against government corruption for decades and wanting disclosure for just as long.
Within a year there will be breakthroughs that the egotistical and arrogant like yourself who missed the boat on the initial message won’t be able to comprehend because all your anonymous degrees and anonymous life experience and anonymous contacts and anonymous accomplishments are much better than mine. The problem is you lack the courage to come forward and always will. It’s the self loathing in you that’s palpable from your writing. If you knew how to get out of your egoic mind, you’d have some real answers.

Here’s a tip. Spend next Friday writing all the former Navy SEALs and intelligence operatives and various other troops that served honorably who wrote books about their careers and let them know you think they’re misguided in their actions. That’ll keep you busy for a while.
As far as myself and the folks I represent and run with in the real world who include some of these men and women, we’re done with your blabber.

          10. You never really address any of my points. You just do a ton of pivoting and obfuscation. Odd way to debate.
I hate to break it to you but you don’t have a patent on patriotism.
I’ll tell you what, I’ll make this as simple as possible. What is the actual time frame for the revelation of this decades old fight? When will I not be able to comprehend what I’m seeing? Is it 10 years? 5 years? Is it 2027? I don’t need to know exact dates, just ballpark it. I want to mark my calendar.
Thank you, I appreciate whatever you can tell me about a time frame.

    2. How much did we pay for 87 pages of fluff. The most obvious was overlooked. The omission of the contamination issue put the property at a false face value. Intentionally or not the document is flawed and misleading.

  2. Location … EMS and FIRE response time to Belmar Elementary School would be minimal … Priceless.

    1. I strongly disagree Mr Creamer. That is the absolute last place to put emergency services. Hundreds of children swarm that intersection several times a day. This will be incredibly dangerous. Plus vehicles dropping off and picking up students will surely get in the way. Ask Goodwill about school traffic.

        1. Yes, it’s a k thru 8 school with over 60 kids per grade. I’ll let you do the math. Hint: it’s in the hundreds.

Oh, and get this, they all start and end the day at the same time.
          Crazy

          1. If there are hundreds of kids running wild in the street , yes that is a huge problem. Sounds like the school should do a better job organizing morning traffic.

          2. Janitor man, I missed the part where the commenter said hundreds of kids ‘running wild in the streets’. Oh wait! I just scrolled up 3/4 of an inch. They didn’t say that.
You want to debate, let’s debate. Please don’t make s%#* up, it only diminishes your stance. There are nearly 500 kids in that school and they arrive and depart all at the same time in the morning and afternoon. It is as one would expect-crowded.

          1. Sorry, the phrase was “Hundreds of children swarm that intersection”. “several times a day”.

Maybe the previous commenter should have said something closer to “Hundreds of Children arrive at the school and cross the intersection in a calm and controlled process multiple times a day.”

I’ll put down the mop when I am done cleaning up after you.

          2. Janitor man. It’s pretty obvious that you’ve never driven past the school during drop off, pick up, half day pick up, after school programs pick up, or after sports pick up. It’s consists of hundreds of kids and dozens of patents all arriving at, or leaving, the school to walk, drive, or bike home. I get that you don’t like being wrong, but let it go man. Yes, it’s a great location for the EMS, unless it’s during one of those times a day during the 9.5 months that school is in session. Other than that super inconvenient reality, it’s perfect.

    2. Once again Mr. Creamer is correct. I live across the street from a very active firehouse that happens to be next door to an elementary school, directly across the street from a high school, as well as diagonally across the street from one of the busiest restaurants on Main Street. It hasn’t had a negative impact during emergency situations for the twenty years I’ve lived there. That’s what they make lights and sirens, helpful teachers, Crossing Guards and neighbors who are “helpers” for. Those things make up just a few of the many aspects of “community”.

    1. Prime real estate? It sat on the market for years with no takers. Why? Was it because no one was savy enough to know a gem when they see one? No, it was because it was over priced and contaminated. We (you , me, and the rest of the tax payers) got screwed. Turns out that the people who passed on it weren’t the fools after all. Nevermind that it was owned by a relative of a high ranking member of the last administration. Yes, that is about as ethically wrong as you can get (go ahead and try to defend that one), but even looking past that little chestnut, it is still a very very bad deal.

      1. So what you are saying is that Belmar / Main Street, is not Prime Real Estate? What is?

If I had the money I would be all over it. Can we do a deal for $1?

        1. Belmar Main Street is prime real estate. That particular dilapidated structure on top of contaminated soil for over a million clams, is not. It sat for years with zero interest or accepted offers. That, by definition, makes that property NOT prime real estate. It was not worth what they were asking for it. The market said so. It took the government to step in and pay over market price. That is very bad. It’s also very contrary to conservative ideology. Since when do we let the f*****n government interfere with the free market?
When people who actually do have the money don’t want it, it’s a bad investment. Not rocket science.
We are the only suckers that were willing to pay full price AND the owner had a relative in the administration that bought it. Those two facts are not in dispute. Those two facts are quite literally indefensible.

          1. Since when do we let the government interfere with free markets???? Ask Joe Biden. He’ll tell you. Like when he released oil from the national oil reserves to “lower gas prices”. I agree it is wrong. Use the resources WE have here. Drill.

          2. You seem to have some inside knowledge, or is this your opinion?

Prime Real Estate, is Prime Real Estate. Yes you got one thing right. The building will be knocked down and the contamination cleaned up. Then a nice new pretty building goes up and the owner starts collecting rent. No its not an instant return unless the building is sold. It’s called an investment. In another 20 years this property will be worth much much more. Especially with the rate of inflation. Mayor B knows about inflation, lol.

I’m sure you will try to poke holes in this too.

          3. Anon- so instead of saying ‘oh yea, I guess it wasn’t really prime real estate after all” you somehow connect oil prices?? As I’m sure you are aware, the US is already the worlds largest oil producer. We’re at the top. No other country produces more oil. And, since there is no ‘United States oil market’, only a ‘global oil market’, the US oil companies sell the oil to other countries if they’re willing to pay more. Drilling in this country won’t do a damn thing to gas prices because oil is a commodity traded on global markets. How is it that you don’t understand this stuff? I mean seriously, you’re all upset at Biden and you don’t even understand how the market works. No US president, either D or R has ANY control over oil prices. And, if you are a true capitalist, that is a good thing.
            Educate yourself.

          4. Real world-
It’s neither my opinion nor ‘inside knowledge’. I’ll explain it slower. If a property is listed at $1.2 million, and no one buys it over the course of a few years, it is priced too high. That is the market talking. The market doesn’t have an agenda, it doesn’t have feelings, it doesn’t have sentimental emotions. It is as cold and indifferent as space. This particular property sat on the market for years without any takers. Prime real estate deals have multiple takers. There were no takers because, even though it may be worth more money one day, it was priced TOO HIGH. Again, not rocket science.
We the people (the government) paid too much for this property. Period.
And I’m not poking holes in your argument. It would need to have the appearance of logic in order to poke holes. Your argument is just one big hole.
I’m sorry if you don’t like it, and I personally don’t care if there is a BFA put there or not, but we overpaid for that piece of property. There is no way around it. Add in the fact that it was owned by a relative of the former BA, and you have an ethical quagmire on your hands. This situation is unacceptable regardless of political ideology.
If the town tried to sell it tomorrow, we’d lose money. That isn’t how I want my tax dollars ‘invested’.

Lastly- “Mayor B knows about inflation lol”. Are you saying inflation was caused by mayor B? Or are you just literally pointing out that Mayor B, like every adult with half a brain, knows about inflation?

Out of curiosity- when Reagan was president and had to deal with inflation by having the fed raise interest rates (spoiler alert: it worked), did you blame him? No, you blame Jimmy Carter, his predecessor. Are you doing that now? Blaming Biden’s predecessor? No, you’re not. Even though the circumstances are eerily similar. Inflation was on the rise at the end of the last administration, so this administration has to deal with it. And they are dealing with it in the same way Reagan’s administration did.
BTW I don’t believe inflation wasn’t Trumps fault. Inflation is caused by the global market shut down of 2020 and the subsequent demand after the worst of the pandemic was over.
The inflation Reagan had to deal with started in the 60’s and peaked during the Carter admin. It was actually on its way back down when Reagan took office. When we close ourselves off into these sad little ideological echo chambers, we misunderstood information and history.
Both sides do it and it needs to stop.

          5. So what’s a good price for prime real estate. How much was that property worth, expert. Be fair. I feel like this is Doherty looking for his next discount.

            1 million?
            500 thousand?
            $1

        2. The price for that particular piece of property would be less than we paid. What that would have been exactly will forever remain a mystery because the government paid the asking price. Why in earth do you think this equation requires an expert? It’s a basic economics. The property will sell for exactly what the market will bear. If a property is listed at $1 mil and there are no offers, it is priced too high. The longer it languishes on the market, the more the price will drop. Why do I feel like I’m explaining this to a child? If the government didn’t swoop in a pay the listing price for this property, one of two things would’ve happened: it would have been taken off the market, or it would have sold for less money.
I admire your dedication to your little team, but like I said, this transaction is indefensible. It wouldn’t matter if it was Walsifer, Doherty (it’s actually right up his alley to do this kind of deal), or Buccafusco. It is bad.

  3. So. Joe McEvoy. I’m “schilling” now? Because I can try and see beyond my own prejudice and look for benefits for the town? Please enlighten us as to how the geese situation should be handled. Seriously. What would you DO. In fact. Why don’t you volunteer to DO something instead of constantly badgering others who do step up to try and solve a problem.
In fact Joe, why don’t you run for council? Or mayor? You seem to have all the answers. And please don’t talk about how everyone is against you, that’s the whole point. Do it anyway.
You sir are egotistical and narrow minded.
Oh. And as far as that building goes. I’m entitled to have opinion on that to. I think Belmar has a great opportunity to not only build something to benefit the whole community but to also be environmentally progressive and clean up a contaminated site which then benefits us all.

    1. Once again Katrina you’re not listening. This is why you never seem to have the facts. Only your own “personal truths”.
First of all I volunteered like many to leave Belmar and give up a six figure income to go back on active duty for a short period of time during The Global War on Terror.
Secondly, I volunteered for 18 years on The Belmar Water Rescue Team before we insisted we NOT get our names in the papers for going out in hurricane conditions and at 2am in the middle of the night for capsized vessels in the middle of the Shark River Inlet. Then in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy I gave terminal guidance to the Governor’s helicopters so they could land on Ocean Avenue when no one else, including the Governor’s own security detail already on the ground in Belmar, knew what to do.
Yeah, you see Katrina THAT was the start of Doherty’s and Wilton’s opportunity with their State appointments. Then when we were live on CNN and in all the papers because we became the ‘darlings’ of the local politicians, all the misogynists in town came aboard to jumpstart their public careers after making light of our quiet shadow organization for years. Because unlike the politicians we don’t advertise our individual exploits, but since you asked Katrina; Well, there you have it.
Now I volunteer internationally with Team Rubicon. You’ve never heard of them either, but now you’re furiously Googling wondering why your “handlers” who “almost served” or “almost enlisted after 9/11” never mentioned these facts about me to you. Yes. Team Rubicon is the preeminent non-governmental rescue and recovery organization in the world. NON-GOVERNMENTAL and made up mostly of VETERANS. A perfect fit for a team player like me. I’m very happy with my life and my path unlike the folks you rub elbows with at your party fundraisers and the private clubs who constantly need MORE, MORE, MORE.
I also spend at least a dozen hours a week volunteering my time as an administrator for The “Belmar/Lake Como/West Belmar Residents” Facebook Group and we have over 900 Belmar residents who come there for the FACTS, not your “opinions that you have a right to” but are partisan and frankly very incorrect. The residents who are the duty experts have all the answers and ONCE AGAIN Katrina, I’m simply the messenger. For three years plus we’ve been getting the facts out. My sources are the entire community. Attorneys, judges, business owners, biologists, veterans, police, firefighters, DPW employees, investigative reporters and people who are MUCH CLOSER to you than you will ever know because they choose to remain confidential. People that are much more informed and up to speed on Belmar’s history than most and have gotten me up to speed. We solve problems there daily, from missing pets and stolen bikes, and helping Seniors, and supporting the needy in the community to exposing the politicians, keeping the graft and greed in check as best we can and dispelling all the rumors and perceived truths that happen here and in council meetings. Many people have done much for Belmar and those are the facts! Especially the men and woman who did LONG tours overseas and MANY tours at that, and then had to come home to the BS we now experience from the Republicants and the Demobrats in town as they battle for supremacy through any means necessary while the 80% of us accordioned somewhere in The Sane Middle want to live in a democratic republic, not an autocracy like they now do in places like Afghanistan.
Why didn’t you run again if you have all the answers? I know why and so do you. A top Monmouth County Republican in town told me. LMAO!
Please don’t ever call me “Sir” because it’s “Sergeant”!
You can call me egotistical and narrow minded though because every time you do, hundreds catch wind of it and your sails luff and because you’re one of the many who still can’t figure out that money, power, and titles that motivate you and yours isn’t what motivates Marines. Conflict and conflict resolution does and you and yours will never win the conflict and never shake my resolve.

        1. Well guess what? I do when i have people like Katrina Clapsis say, “Why don’t you volunteer to DO something instead of constantly badgering others who do step up to try and solve a problem?”
I know for a fact your father wasn’t taught to stand and not return hostile fire. Ask me how I know?
Thanks for the partisan comment misdirected as leadership wisdom though. Unlike your father, you never served (you probably “almost did” though) but I’m glad you got a “contact high” for the half a day you tried to silence me from defending my honor for your personal agenda.
It reminds me of the last time when (Deleted by Editor) were spreading rumors in town that I never served and that I would become the Beachfront Director once Jerry Buccafusco was elected. It seems now that I wasn’t seeking a job but representing veterans and true patriots seeking a local government that can do the job regardless of party now doesn’t it?
Thanks for caring Mr. Anonymous. Did your father ever write something and not have the courage as a Marine to put his own name on it, or is it only his son that developed that nasty “civilian” habit lacking in courage?
          SFMF

          1. Mr McEvoy
Why on earth do you get so worked up? It’s the internet for Pete’s sake. No one will ever think, while lying on their death bed looking back over the course of their life, ‘man I wish I spent more time arguing on the internet’. Seriously, it is a colossal waste of time. You’ve accomplished a lot, it’s true. But your constant presence on all forms of social media only take away from your real life achievements. Because people who do important thing, things that matter, DO NOT spend their time on the internet.
All forms of social media are a collective universe of BS. All of it. And any serious engagement in it, whether it’s taking pictures of food, taking pictures of yourself, or having pointless arguments, is both pointless and sad.
You don’t owe anyone explanations. You don’t have to write six paragraphs of angry screed. Just fight for your convictions in real life and let the masses squabble in their electronic land of make believe. Take a break from the spiritually harmful pretend world and live your life.

          2. Omg. Katrina Clapsis, partisan leadership, Jerry Buccafusco, Beach Director. This guy is all over the place and is clearly misdirected.

          3. Replying to “Antisocial Media” below.

Don’t worry about how I spend my time. I have a very fulfilling life outside of the Internet and also because of it. Right now I’m helping rehabilitate two feral cats and along with two friends I help a couple dozen folks in a grounding/earthing weekly group we set up through social media, and I restore cars as well and find tons of cheap parts on the Internet of all places including some social media sites for car enthusiasts. Wow! How profound?

I have time to do these things because I busted my ass for most of my life and now do what I enjoy. I enjoy using social media’s power to inform the community that they’re not keeping their promises to uphold the sacrifice many men and women I knew who led me by their example made for my town and my country. Right now I’m playing my Sunday morning weekly online Poker tournament and hopefully will make some money while YOU seem to be unhappily wasting YOUR time trying to convince me to live YOUR lifestyle which I care nothing about- as long as it’s honest and not hurtful to my fellow citizens- and won’t question you on or start ad hominem attacks with references to. See how easy that is. It’s called “liberty” actually.

Actually, the Internet as well as social media has taught me a lot. It changed my mind about a lot of social issues, made me aware of the horrible idea of offshore wind, kept me in touch with military colleagues, and has been integral in my research for an upcoming book as well as a YouTube Channel I’ll soon be launching in the fall that will hopefully help a lot of people and become very lucrative as well. I spend many hours on the Internet but surprisingly very few are on social media unless I’m multitasking as I am now. Thanks for judging my lifestyle against yours though. You seem very angry and judgmental too but on things you can’t control. True patriots in town helped control an entire election sweep last fall through social media when “they” said it couldn’t be done. Maybe you can work on your narrowmindedness while I work on the Internet helping myself and others. I find six paragraphs to be profound and liberating as well as properly therapeutic. Just so you know. 😉
Social media and the Internet are amazingly powerful tools used by powerful researchers, speakers, and writers who are changing the world for the better. As opposed to the doubters, hypocrites, and misguided social engineers, and political operatives who use it for negative means. Every huge and profound discovery has been like that since the dawn of Man. Some people warm others with fire, cook great meals, and sit around it and discuss worthy topics; Other’s like yourself try to burn people with it.

          4. Replying to “Dr. Phil” above…

You’re not a doctor at all; If you were, you’d have the bandwidth to process the facts instead of coming at the current state of affairs in town from an obviously partisan viewpoint that I do not possess.
I’ll say it right here in The Blog; Few folks lost more respect for our Belmar Mayor whom I considered a friend more than I did when former mayor Matt Doherty was given a virtual freebie from the current administration. There are many people closer to the current mayor than he will ever know that explained to me in detail that they fervently tried to make him acquiesce on the Taylor Pavilion concession debacle or settle for a reduced rate- certainly not as low as $1 a month though- to appease the vast majority of folks that saw something was amiss after the preaching of “fiscal transparency” and “not owing anyone anything” by the administration that was recently elected.

Are you folks done yet with your “personal truths” and personal attacks here on this thread, or can you just go away and not dig yourselves into a deeper hole with your partisan shovels?

      1. Wow that’s a lot to unpack. The first thing that jumped out at me is when you said “at 2am in the middle of the night”. That is what an English professor would call redundant. You could’ve said ‘at 2am’ OR ‘in the middle of the night’. Just food for thought. It may help to shorten you comments and make them more accessible.

        1. Yeah, well when I only get here every three months whenever Katrina thinks the coast is clear for a historical rewrite then “yes” there is a lot to unpack. thanks for being so blatant with your personal attacks and lack of interest in the facts. I seem to recognize your writing as well.
I’ll get back to English Class if you promise to start History Class and ask yourself one simple question. If the men and women who sacrificed everything could come back to life and had to live in a town like Belmar, do you think they would be happy about the elitist, partisan **** going on continually in the borough from a very small, very loud, entitled group on both sides of the aisle.
Once again; Belmar is a microcosm of what is going on in the nation. We can’t begin to fix it nationally, but we are fixing it here. By “we”, I mean the Sheepdogs, Watchdogs, and Mad Dogs who have united, not individuals like yourself who are concerned with style and not substance deep down in their hollow souls. We strain to live a life worth their sacrifice. Maybe you should start doing the same, O’ Great Courageous Anonymous Proofreader of The Blog.

          1. Mr Mac
I believe that if the men and women who sacrificed everything could come back, they would be appalled and confused and depressed by the amount of time grown ups spend bragging and/or arguing in a fake electronic universe. This is what I sacrificed my life for? Cat videos?
The internet in general, and social media in particular, are, on balance, bad. Yes there are some good things- finding auto parts, checking to see if Peter Falk is dead to win a bet, Tom Cruise’s height, porn, etc. But the bad far outweighs the good. (Deleted by Editor.) It is shallow and pointless. And it is all run by the very elites you pretend to hate.
I agree with you on some of your positions. I really do. (Deleted by Editor.)
            Unplug my friend, unplug.

          2. Antisocialite:
The shelves in the supermarket are stocked with good and bad as well and branding is controlled by the corporate elites there as well. I just happen to be one of the 7% of Americans who are at or below my ideal weight, not on any type of medication, and also not pre-diabetic or diabetic because the same smart choices I make on The ‘Net to stay away from junk, I also make in those overwhelming aisles at the local Shop-Rite with their temptations. If I “unplugged” totally, I’d starve. Thanks for wanting to save me, but I’m a “self-rescue”.
If I knew who you were, I’d argue with you in person instead of in this “fake universe” as I speak about the same facts in The Blog, on Facebook, and on the telephone, as I do on the streets of Belmar and in the council meetings.
The message- not the means- is what I focus on, and guess what? Contrary to what most closeminded folks will say; My mind has been changed on many subjects by folks presenting the facts on social media. Most recently as five months ago I believed offshore wind farms were a great idea. Now, after escaping The Dunning-Kruger Effect I suffered from I realize they are a bad idea in far too many ways.

  4. And WE the taxpayers paid for this appraisal? Sounds like Eddie gave them the magic number (Deleted by Editor) and is laughing all the way to the bank. Disgusting. Maybe Eddie can get a dog and chase the geese cheaper than Mike can. And McEvoy, you are SPOT ON. Keep it coming.

    1. There are 87 pages of hooey! No soil issues to report. Incompetent or collusion? No way is that property worth 1.2 million. We’ve been had!!

        1. If it was worth anything don’t you think Merkler or Depepe or Shipers or Taylor would have bought it up? It’s a disgrace that the taxpayers were duped by you know who.

  5. Joe, that’s quite a resume.
You seem to know more about me and my motives than I do. Quite impressive.
You didn’t answer my question about how to get rid of the geese though?

    1. Well, I DO know why the Monmouth County Republicans didn’t run you a second time because they told me. That’s the trust I’ve developed with many in town who are scared but tired of the stranglehold the so called elites have on our town. They have businesses on Main Street, kids in the school system, jobs within The Borough, and positions that don’t offer them the freedom to put the facts forth for public consumption as I certainly do. You actually think I, as well as they, enjoy this. That’s what makes you especially out of touch with the residents. How many times have I told you this and you simply continue? Maybe if it came from a few of your colleagues in the local Republican Party who have expressed it to me repeatedly but don’t want their names on a “government watchlist”.
I can certainly tell you one thing; You’ll give up the partisan rhetoric long before we ever give up disseminating the facts to those that love Belmar more than they love their political party, and love their neighbors and their neighbors’ families more than they care about the Trump and Biden families.
The difference between your group and us is we have no problem with the facts because they won’t harm or benefit our personal agenda or corrupt our honesty, because our personal agenda is to present the facts. One day soon the rest of the law abiding folks who aren’t looking for “more, more, more” by any means they can get it, can start to live in a small town and not an amusement park. Katrina, the exit to “Wally’s World” is just past Mike Campbell’s Funhouse, Ed Kirschenbaum’s House of Mirrors (nothing to see here), and Jim McCracken’s False Fortune Teller.
We can get rid of the geese with patience and a trained dog, or if you’re impatient, by unfortunately killing them AND then donating the meat to a homeless shelter as they do to the Canada Geese in major cities with the same problem. Either way, there are too many geese that no longer migrate and like to poop on Belmar’s lawns.

    1. Facebook Admin, what an achievement. Probably best not to talk to your fellow neighbors this way. Put your ego aside. Someone once told me that if you have to tell everyone your accomplishments then you probably didn’t accomplish anything.

      1. Well, when my fellow neighbors like Katrina seem to want to imply that I’ve never done anything. Then it’s time to let them know they really don’t have a clue.
I’m sure she’s done everything she has said and don’t question her. In fact when she was running for office and told everyone about her accomplishments I tend to disagree with your statement that she didn’t accomplish anything?!?
I do know one thing; I don’t try to demean her life by telling her how to braid hair because that’s something I know nothing about.

  6. Is Sgt. ****** still in the marines or is it a lifetime enlistment? He’s lived above Federicos for 20+ years apparently as a result of his sacrifice to our great nation. Maybe he shouldn’t have given up that “six figure salary”. But if he can’t take care of the geese, at least he’s making sure the Catholic school lowers the flag so that he can be properly revered. And if that doesn’t work, at least he’ll harass everyone who works in public service until they can’t take it anymore since no one can appease his demands. (Deleted by Editor) I’m sure it’s not because of the reasonable way that he approaches any apparent disagreement with his way of thinking.

    (Asterisks are mine)

    1. I thought after the meeting the council was so interested in helping ? What happened ?

Is there still no communication? Smoke and mirrors?

Can the town afford to pay firefighters if the volunteers quit?

      1. That is the way this Mayor & Council acts. Very ********. Ask me how I know.

I’m sure they will have all the solutions (excuses) tonight.

The council & boro staff can become the next firefighters since they want to move into that building. (Mayors words from last meeting). Ironic since they keep saying its contaminated.

        (Asterisks are mine, Editor.)

      2. They’ll never quit. **** ***** *** credibility these particular gentlemen would never have otherwise.

        (Asterisks are mine, Editor.)

    2. That firehouse had been in disrepair for 30 years. It wasn’t an issue for them when they thought they were moving into a new firehouse. That doesn’t look like it’s going to happen so the boro needs to deal with it. Maybe the fire dept should open their books up and chip in a little to get something done. I’m sure the bar is well stocked.

  7. To the Administrator. Why aren’t the comments in chronological order by dates posted. They seem random.

    1. The format for comments in this theme is different. Comments are in chronological order, but replies to them are listed under the original comment. On the right side, comments and replies are listed in the order in which they were posted. I realize that some of my readers are not fond of this new comment format and I am working on it. Continuing with the outdated theme that Dave used, which we all liked, was just not possible anymore.
