    1. I guess when you have a large town like Belmar subsidizing EVERY service you give to your residents, you can afford to NOT nit pick your fees. Maybe Belmar needs to increase these shared services agreements.

  1. When are they going to get a street sweeping schedule?

It used to be every other Wednesday. Now it’s ???????

By the time I hear the sweeper coming down the street, it’s too late to move my car! I think the last time the street sweeper came was a month ago.

  2. Resident, are you referring to “Belmar’s “ street sweeper? Maybe it’s busy sweeping “Belmar’s “ streets. Tell Huisman to buy his own!

    1. According to Lake Como’s lists of payment of bills of July 31 and August 10, the borough paid Monmouth County $588.82 for street sweeping on June 28 and then again on July 10 for another $588.82.
There seemed to have been another unannounced sweep last week because I could tell dirt in the street in front of my house moved a bit farther west.
It appears that Belmar has nothing to do with this shared services agreement — unless it has its own agreement with the county.

      1. Ok. Next time I see the Belmar sweeper going down Main Street in Lake Como I’ll take a picture. Lake Como probably doesn’t even pay like everything else belmar does for them. That way their tax rate stays lower than ours

      2. Wow. Thanks for the info. Glad to hear we here in Belmar don’t do ALL OF YOUR services. I guess we ONLY subsidize your essential services such as Police, Fire and First Aide. Enjoy your low taxes on us.
