The beginning of this article has excellent descriptions of how mining the ocean floor works. And in the article, about the CEO of the company “He has just flown in from London for a big mining conference. For years, he’s been traveling the world to talk up deep-sea mining to investors and government officials”. Imagine his carbon footprint.

And telling everyone else what not to eat,
while they fly into Dubai by private jet.
