September 11, 2022 – 8:46PM
Belmar Mayor Mark Walsifer and the Belmar BoroughCouncil in conjunction with Commissioner Director Tom Arnone and the Monmouth County Board of Commissioners will host
“Light Up the Shore” in honor of the lives lost and the fearless display of heroism by rescue teams and citizens who responded to the tragedy on September 11, 2001.
Everyone is invited to participate at the 10th Avenue Public Safety Pavilion on the Belmar Boardwalk on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 8:30PM.
Use your cell phone, flashlight etc. to light up the skyline at 8:46PM to honor and remember these heroes.
Info might be added to this post as it becomes available.
It is unclear to me exactly who is responsible for what at that building.

New Due Date for this Quarter is September 30, 2022

It is a quiet week for Blog News.
So here is what is happening in my backyard.
There have never been this many Praying Mantises in my yard, and I always thought that they were beneficial in my Garden.
However, according to my research, this species is the Invasive Chinese Mantis. They have killed 5 Monarch Butterflies in my yard this year, and those are just the ones I know about. This one was waiting for another Monarch on one of my milkweeds and just happened to catch this unlucky cicada instead.
Here are some articles about this garden inhabitant and info on how to distinguish this species from our own native Carolina Mantises, and identify their egg sacs.
