  1. sorry … all the top floor condos are spoken for.

    remember … one man’s ceiling
    is another man’s floor

  2. Mark. You’re 100% correct. The board did not even discuss the needed variances. Only that this mega building will replace The Belmar Inn. It’s always about the money. They could care less about the surrounding neighbors. I’m sure any board member wouldn’t want this building next to their house

  3. #2 maybe they care about the entire borough and community. Maybe they understand that change is good. Or is your opinion the only one. There were and are many supporters of this project, they were also at the meetings. Ps you must have been granted many variances for your house on a postage stamp lot.

  4. Ah yes, the Bucolic 12th Avenue Belmar Inn property, how the entire town will fondly remember the amounts of money it cost the taxpayers of Belmar, Monmouth County and State of Nj spent for housing the best of the best. We will miss making calls to the police, code enforcement, fire department, mayor(s) and Social Services day in and day out, forever on our minds!

  5. #4 I didn’t think it was humanly possible to miss the point by so far a distance.
No one, I mean no one, is defending the Belmar Inn. We all agree that it is an eyesore and a depressor of property values and a burden on tax payers. The point we are all making is that all of that is irrelevant! The government is helping to pad the profit margins of a private developer. That is bad with a capital B. And on top of that, the Belmar Inn, which has been a terrible neighbor for years, is being rewarded with an over market price. The condition of the Belmar Inn is no excuse for having a government agency pick winners and losers. I’ll never understand why fellow republicans are ok with this.

  6. Hark: Mayor Adams wants to make a deal with the Belmar Inn that will in all likelihood satisfy the verbose #5 Socialism proponent.

  7. #6 if you’re ok with the government interfering in a private transaction, then you are pro socialism. I totally understand why you do, but ya can’t have it both ways. Sorry.

  8. 7: what’s the diff where Belmars finest hotel gets its social services income, regardless of whether it’s the STNJ, MONMOUTH COOUNTY, BELMAR SOCIAL SERVICES OR the Happy, late night, jazzy dresser, better known as Mayor Adams? 12th Ave peeps are happiest when government pays the bills!

  9. #8 the obsession with former police officer, and current Mayor Adams is a little creepy. You realize it’s a different state, yes? And the whole of 12th Ave is happiest when gov pays the bills? You’re speaking for an entire street now?
So everyone who receives social security and Medicare benefits should have their house bulldozed, and the gov should step in to allow a multi unit condo in its place so that a developer can make extra money? Or are you one of those folks that doesn’t realize that Medicare, social security, the federal highway system, law enforcement, the military, flood insurance, welfare (both individual and corporate) are ALL a form of socialism? Please, turn off Fox ‘news’ and come back to reality. Or maybe ignorance really is bliss.

  10. #8 So your support for law enforcement is conditional.
“Blue lives matter! But only the ones I agree with!” HAHAHAHAHA
The hypocrisy is deep and wide with some folks.
