  1. I agree they should definitely have to pay for it on top of paying for replacement software by another company if the county needs all new software that’s going to have to cost money too.

  2. ES&S should pay Monmouth County for all polling costs for another election … MC runs school board, referendum and fire official elections all the time.

  3. It’s a question of comforting lies or inconvenient truths. Which one do you want?

    DON’T VOTE!!!

  4. #4 I choose inconvenient truth. Which means I will continue to exercise my most basic right to vote. I won’t let a software glitch stop me from voting for my representative. If history has taught us anything, it’s to be wary of folks who discourage voting. That’s how totalitarianism takes root.

  5. #7 I guess it’s possible that it was a coordinated, but ultimately unsuccessful, attempt to give more votes to republican candidates (its hard to tell because the only race with an outcome that may change was a nonpartisan one). But I figured I’d wait to see the results of the recount before jumping to conclusions.

  6. Software can be programmed to calculate votes in many ways. Source code can be written to count every third vote counted to candidate A regardless of how vote was cast. Very simple.

  7. #9 It is? Waiting for the results of an investigation before jumping to conclusions is partisan now? Uh oh.
And your comment that it may not be a software glitch is what exactly? Your implication is that one side must’ve cheated. And implying that, is partisan. Oops, you just got what the kids are calling ‘self owned’.

  8. #11 You are targeting republicans. I never said one side may have cheated. You did. Read my comments again.

  9. #12 oh my. I am so sorry. So when you say that it’s ‘maybe not?’ a software glitch. What were you suggesting? Mice chewed thru the wires? Solar flares?
I apologize for letting all the obnoxiously partisan things you ever said on this blog influence my interpretation. Won’t happen again.

  10. #14 thank you.
Just out of curiosity, and this in no way is intended to impugn your unbiased opinion, what did you mean when you said that this “maybe not” a software glitch?
    I appreciate your forthright response.
