  1. Wow, a Republican who cares about the environment. Boy, Mr Smith must be in constant arguments with his GOP colleagues. Good for him. I hope he was this upset when the last administration opened up the entire eastern seaboard to oil exploration.

  2. #2 I think we all know the USA should be energy independent. Windmills won’t do it. Oil is needed to keep our nation going. Windmills won’t do it.

  3. #4 I agree that windmills won’t do it alone. There are other innovations (what we do best in the US) in the works. I think we can all agree that we need to move away from oil and coal. For several reasons. But they have had a good run.
My comment was more about the, um, uniqueness of a Republican in congress who seems to care about the environment.

  4. #6 “Vito Corleone”

Yup. You are a Republican that will always try and throw liberals under the bus. (Plus the fact that you really never have anything of substance to add to the mix here.)

We wonder why the largest voting block of Americans are now Independents and non-party affiliated voters?!? Now the corporate news media is on track to attempt to give us Trump versus Biden again?!?
The two party system is broken and Belmar is simply a microcosm of what’s been going on nationally. Thank God those of us in “The Sane Middle”- the true ‘silent majority’ make things happen in America and Belmar now, all while the Trumps and Bidens nationally and the “1-877-JOBS 4 KOPS Crew” and the Bill and Hillary Doherty supporters in town still believe the world revolves around them.
“The Sheepdogs” are now taking back America one town at a time Vito. Take your low political I.Q. and your partisan rhetoric to another pasture; The wolves no longer have the run of this one.

  5. #7 wasting your breath. Don Vito is quite happy in his self constructed homogenous echo chamber bubble. His myopic kingdom of confirmation bias and moral superiority. Facts, figures, statistics, truth, honesty, empathy, and integrity have no place in the palace of selfishness. It is a place founded on hatred and guarded by impenetrable ignorance, where fear is currency and outrage is shelter.
