  1. According to Medscape this week, The Department of Veterans Affairs now has a program where Veterans can be authorized to use Ubers in order to get their medical care. To my personal knowledge Red tape nightmares from as far back as 1968 have been improved. Penalizing Disabled Veterans by having Medical Care in far away venues from their housing has been disgraceful.

    1. I’m not sure where you are getting your information but the nightmares for veterans have just begun. The plan to cut 80,000 employees at the VA will significantly affect the level of care our veterans currently receive. It will also gut the 2022 burn pit law, designed to care for the specific needs of veterans affected by the toxic burn pits of Iraq.
You are right to point out the benefits of the contract w Uber so that the veterans can reach their medical care. The only thing about it that you seem to have missed is the fact that it started almost two years ago in August of 2023. During the last administration.

I’m all for efficiency, but I don’t think the VA is where we should be allowing a unelected civilian, who is a foreign national, who never served, and who is not a medical professional, gut the veterans affairs bureau. Penalizing veterans because of the selfish whims of a mercurial billionaire is also disgraceful.

      1. Where are you getting your news from? I seriously doubt Trump would do anything to hurt the veterans. You should read balanced news. I only hear good things that he is doing for veterans and I have family members who are veterans saying the same. They love Trump!

      2. Stop the hate
        Find a hobby
You are one of those haters that Trump said
I can cure a horrible disease and I still won’t get any applause

Do you feel great waking up with your negativity every day?

        Just curious

        1. I feel great waking up knowing that I resisted a tyrant. I refuse to be one of those that Trump said : ‘I could shoot somebody and wouldn’t lose voters’.
And yes, I am doing everything I can to stop the hate. We have never had a potus that hated so many Americans. Any resistance to his brand of childish bully politics, is a step towards stopping hate.
When he inevitably screws up beyond repair (it’s kind of his thing), you will finally see that the emperor isn’t wearing any clothes. And you, like millions of people like you, will pretend that you were against him the whole time. And I, and millions of people like me, will shake our heads, accept your hypocrisy, and move on toward repairing the damage.
          Hope that settles your curiosity.

  2. I am a Disabled Veteran and I never had a problem getting reimbursement for my travel expenses to a scheduled VA appointment.

I don’t see any loss of care from the VA. In fact, the opening of the new Toms River clinic is a great improvement.

    1. You haven’t seen any loss of care yet. When doge fires 80k VA employees, you likely will.

Yes the Toms River clinic is a great improvement.
“Toms River , NJ — The VA New Jersey Healthcare System is proud to announce the grand opening of our brand-new Toms River Clinic at 1051 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. On this day, we will welcome Veterans to our new state-of-the-art facility, officially marking Patient Day One.”

Please note the date it opened, about three months before Trump took office.

  3. To improve access to care, the Veterans Health Administration Innovation Ecosystem and VHA Veterans Transportation Program Office established the VHA–Uber Health Connect Initiative as a free transportation service for veterans who may have difficulty getting to or from care facilities.

  4. Trump is not a fan of the military. He has made that very clear in statements and actions over the last 40 years.

It’s no big surprise that his approval rating is hovering down at around 37%.
He’s a joke and a clown and hopefully his damage is reversible.

    1. There wasn’t much of a choice between a jerk trump and the total ******** (I mean that only in the best way of course) he ran against.

      (Asteriksks are mine, Editor.)

      1. Wasn’t a great choice, I agree. But the wrong one was made.
The last guys dementia was sad but harmless. This guy’s dementia is sad and terrifying.
It’s funny that the same people that wouldn’t shut up about Biden’s cognitive decline, are totally silent about Trump’s cognitive decline. What’s that type of behavior called again? I’m drawing a blank.
