    1. You were moved by it? While his widow preached the Christian tradition of forgiveness, no one else did. It was an anger filled vengeance rally.
I recommend watching the memorial for the victims of Neo Nazi Dylan Roof’s rampage, when he killed nine parishioners at the Emanuel Baptist Church in SC. He killed them because they were black.
Now that was moving. One after another of the victims families forgave Roof. Roof, a self proclaimed Nazi who shot them, while they prayed, after sitting with them for 45 minutes. Then President Barack Obama sang a verse of Amazing Grace. Not one single person blamed an entire political party.

If you were “moved” by the Charlie Kirk memorial, this one will bring you to your knees.

    1. Haha. Boy oh boy is there a double standard.
I must have missed your comment about the man’s outfit. Oh wait there has never once been a comment on a male politician’s outfit. Like literally ever.
And we are now against wealth? We have a Republican president that is (Deleted by Editor.)
Unlike Mr T, Sherril released a full financial disclosure that shows that there a no unusual stock sales. Her husband is a hedge fund manager and makes a boat load. If she was a Republican you’d be cheering their success.

Take a moment and think about how hypocritical you’re being. Not only on their financial success, but on something as superficial as what she was wearing.

It’s an important election folks. Let’s not act like petulant children. Let’s engage in critical thought for once.

    2. Her husband is a hedge fund manager and makes a lot of money. I’m sorry, is being wealthy bad now? I can’t keep up with the modern republican machine. Mr Ciattarelli is also very loaded, are you saving your scrutiny of his fortune for a different post? Or are you just hanging your hypocrisy out on the line to dry?

      1. Just another Nancy Pelosi and you know it! They trade inside information.

Jack had more answers. She had nothing. He answered where his money came from, as a ceo. She responded that she will make sure Jack won’t run again, what? I guess she was mad.

Yes, you should absolutely care about how politicians become wealthy quickly.

        1. I do care. Sherril released financial disclosure documents. More than required. You can look at them yourself as they are now public information. You clearly haven’t, and my guess is that you won’t. Truth ain’t popular w the new GOP

If you think that republicans aren’t making money off of their positions, then it’s YOU who doesn’t care how politicians get rich.

The debate I watched was even. My issue with Ciattarelli is that he just complains. He won’t lower utility rates or property taxes. It’s an empty political promise.

  1. I was rather tame. Neither candidate could claim victory. They were rather respectful considering.
The real loser in the debate was the crowd. They were asked to be quiet during the debate and that didn’t happen. One apparent Ciatarelli supporter yelled “Bull*^#!” when Sherril was answering a question honestly. She had to admonish the grown man by reminding him that children were in attendance. That’s right, a grown man. It was an embarrassing display (some of the crowd, not the candidates) and an unfortunate reminder of how decorum is dead in the age of…well, in the age of the politics of meanness.

  2. I was very impressed with Jack. Anyone that is upset with the Belmar’s over-development and affordable housing burden that is the responsibility of the state should watch this debate. Mickie S. stated that she is totally for urbanization and continuing to meet the mandates of the Mt. Laurel decision. Why vote for more of the same? I’m a one issue voter this year. Who will stop this over-development mandate by the State of NJ. Belmar Mayor is right – we are handcuffed. So why not vote for someone that will try to stop it.

    1. There seems to be a great deal of confusion over the affordable housing rule.
“New Jersey’s affordable housing requirements mandate that a portion of new residential developments must be set aside for low- and very low-income households.”
The key words are “portion of NEW developments”.
You are acting like the rule forces developers to build 45 units on a property that would fit three houses (12th Ave project anyone?)
Belmar has allowed, both under dirty Doherty and Walsifer, insanely oversized property’s to developed. And as a consequence, NOT as a reason, there have been affordable housing mandates.
In other words, you have it backwards.
Mr Ciatarelli knows this. He’s playing politics (don’t blame him, it’s a campaign) and you are buying into it.
We, as a community, can say “I’m sorry, but no you cannot build 67 units on that property because it violates zoning laws”. Period. Instead, we have a portion of the citizenry who say things like “well it’s better than the motor lodge”, or “it’s better than the Belmar inn”. You cannot allow these developers (the real enemy) to use those excuses to build these urban enclaves and then complain that a portion needs to go to affordable housing. The affordable housing portion is a by product of the project, not the reason for it.
Lastly, Ciattarelli won’t do a thing about it. Partly for the reasons I outlined above, partly because governors don’t make laws, they just sign them, and partly because he claims to be a man of the working class and the working class is who benefits from affordable housing rules.

  3. Tylenol causes autism. It was vaccines but now it’s Tylenol. Never mind the studies, we just know it.
I guess when you put a nepo baby, who spent his entire privileged adult life as an environmental lawyer, in charge of health policy…you get what you pay for.

It would be like going to an oncologist for legal advice. We really have become the worlds dumbest country.

  4. I wouldn’t vote for a republican if he was running against a sand crab.
The party of Trump needs to end.
If anyone, literally anyone, else was at the top of what used to be a grand ol’ party, I’d give Jack a chance. But until the gop excises the orange colored doddering authoritarian *** *** from their party, my vote goes to the dems.

  5. Naval gazing Husband of NJ Dem gov hopeful Mikie Sherrill also ensnared in massive Naval Academy cheating scandal
    ——————————————————————————–
The above was a headline that appeared in the NYPOST. Of course, I didn’t read the article and I don’t mean to vote in this so-called “Election.” But this is what the **** in charge of our “TWO” parties give us the select from. As for this woman’s opponent, he just hasn’t been caught yet.

If voting mattered, they wouldn’t let us do it.” Mark Twain

    (Asterisks are mine, Editor.)

    1. I get that you are filled with apathy, but will you please stop using that “Mark Twain” quote?
First of all, he never said it. There is literally no record of him saying it or writing it.
What he DID say, about voting, is:
“The vote is a pistol. You may seldom or never draw it, but when your life is in danger you will see that it is a valuable thing to have”.
And about women voting, don’t forget he was alive in the 19th century, he said:
“I should like to see the time come when women shall help to make the laws. I should like to see that whiplash, the ballot, in the hands of women”.

Based on things you say and do, my guess is that you strongly disagree with both those statements.
So please stop using fake quotes from a real guy. A guy whose actual political beliefs you likely vehemently oppose.

  6. “If voting mattered, they wouldn’t let us do it” -something Mark Twain never said or wrote.

Even the most cursory study of Twain reveals a very different perspective on voting and democracy.

    1. Sir, “democracy” is dead. Ever since the rabble in this state understood they could vote themselves money, that was the end of democracy.
