Start listening at 1 hour, 55 minutes. One of our lawyers explains that if we insist that developers pay infrastructure costs, they will just add more units.
And Vickie Renner and Linda Sharkus make excellent comments and ask questions before that starting at 1 hour, 36-1/2 minutes.

  1. Has anyone seen Lake Como? It looks beautiful and they have lower taxes than Belmar.
Why can’t we have the same beauty at Silver Lake? What’s the plan?

    1. Their taxes are lower because YOU subsidize all of their services to their residents. McDirty and Wilton brokered a deal to save South Belmar, I mean Lake Como, $1M several years ago as they were both running for County Freeholder jobs. Murphy saved them by giving them both lucrative state jobs.

  2. Interesting…… I will agree Ms. Sharkus makes some great points. This administration by doing what they did and filing the lawsuit took everything out of the public eye for a year. Say what you want about the last admin but they had public meetings and were transparent about the developers coming before and the public had the opportunity to be heard. That ship has now sailed thanks to Jerry and his bright idea…….. If he didn’t poke the bear and file the law suit this would not be happening.

    1. People have been getting hurt. Looks like the interim first aid coverage is working just fine. Maybe Mr Walsifer should’ve waited a bit before purchasing an overpriced contaminated property from the family member of one of his staff. With any luck, maybe we can sell the property and recoup some of the dough.

      1. That property was on the market for years with no takers. What makes you think it would sell now?

        1. I said “with any luck”. Plus after it is remediated and listed at a reasonable price, who knows. It will be a loss but maybe we can recoup some of the flushed down the toilet money.
All the folks on here that praise the last admin and criticize literally everything the current admin does, wanna chime in? I’d love to hear how you defend buying this albatross.
