  1. the 16th Avenue Bathroom Pavilion was a bad idea.

A modern bathroom trailer … set level with the Boardwalk … avoids any access / ADA issues

    1. Gene is correct. But we’re too far into the 16th Ave, year round bathroom.
But I’m in favor of a portable bathroom for 3rd Ave that is located in the street, parallel to the boardwalk with access level and ADA compliant as Gene said. It’s not on the beach and just needs Monmouth Co approval. Don’t worry about giving up a few parking spots.

  2. I also agree. Will the town recover the $300 – $350 thousand it took from the beach utility to have it opened by this summer? Take the bathroom trailer that was on 16th avenue and put it on 3rd avenue.

  3. with over 150 public comfort stations @ parks, lakes, beaches, forests, trails, historic sites and overlooks … the NJDEP is the EXPERT …

post Sandy, the DEP approved bathroom trailers adjoining the boardwalk … not bathroom pavilions

    1. Gene, the DEP approved temporary bathroom trailers that we removed each year. But, it’s hard to believe, they didn’t approve concrete pads on the beach (deemed permanent structures). We need to create some sort of temporary pad to place the temporary bathroom trailer for 3rd Ave. Or put one in the street along the boardwalk.

  4. Can someone please tell me why the Borough’s sign at 10th Ave and Hwy 35 hasn’t worked for months and months? I know he’s busy running Freehold, but can BA Kane do anything?? Forget the loss of revenue. It’s an embarrassment to have a black screen in the center of town. Let’s get it fixed!!!

  5. Just drove down Ocean Ave. What a shameful disaster the 16th Ave bathroom has become. Piling in the air, some deeper than others. Piling lying on the sand. Playground equipment strewn throughout. All construction equipment packed up and gone. No sign of workers. Mayor Buccafusco you are to blame. Along with your overpriced engineers. What an embarrassment.

    1. I heard there is contamination with bad politics because the current mayor didn’t like the previous mayor. And we need to do a study for 5 years before we can do anything to fix it.

  6. the $1.5M grant money would be better spent on sustainable bathroom trailers and sewer connection controls.
