Agreed. What is the cost to the taxpayers for this event that benefits our bars so deeply? Police, DPW overtime. It shouldn’t cost us a penny. The cost should be covered by the parade committee with their numerous fundraisers and by the bars themselves who stuff their pockets with cash. I feel the parade has turned into a drunk fest and has worn out its welcome.
I would love to see a question on the November ballot that asks should the Belmar St. Patrick’s Parade continue to be held? Let’s have an informal vote here. I vote no.
