Well which is it, Katrina? He’s useless as mayor or he shouldn’t resign because it’s summer? I figured the republicans would be thrilled after complaining about him endlessly.
Furthermore, politicians engaging in politics is hardly worth the pearl clutching. It happens literally 1000 times a day every day by the two parties. Being angry at the resignation of a guy you think is doing a terrible job smacks of its own kind of political maneuvering. You’d rather the unpopular (and terrible at his job) mayor finish his term in order to give the republican candidate a leg up. Meaning that the welfare of this town is slightly less important than winning. Cuts both ways. And it’s the ugly side (all sides really) of politics.
I’m voting for the candidate that Doherty does not support. Donovan.
That’s all the information I need. Of course it doesn’t hurt that Donovan is intelligent, honest, resourceful, kind, and hardworking. All virtues. But the biggest virtue of all, is Doherty doesn’t like her for some reason. And THAT is the best virtue of all. He is pure ****.
There used to be a song in the sixties that some of the lyrics went like this, “You mustn’t be discouraged, there’s always one step further down you can go.”
Don’t worry, whichever of these *******’ “wins” we’re going to take that next step further down.
After reading the letter by Ms Clapsis I’m confused. If the mayor is resigning doesn’t the Council President, Jodi Kinney step in to filll the unexpired term? She steps in when the mayor is absent. The Vice President steps in when the President can’t. It only makes sense.
If the mayor and Caitlin are pulling a sham then that is not right. It’s especially unfair with Caitlin running for mayor. I like Caitlin, I don’t think she would allow this political wrangling and would want a fair election. But if she does that shows her true colors and secures our votes for DeBlasio and Anan.
(There is a set procedure for this, look for my weekend Blog post, Editor.)
That’s the funniest thing I ever heard Gene say!
On another note, I believe local small town politics should be nonpartisan. Mainly to avoid the political game that Buccafusco and Donovan are playing now. By inserting Donovan in as acting mayor ( who is a candidate for mayor) instead of the Council President is politics at its worse. By by Jerry. By by to you too Caitlin if you allow this and don’t insist on the right thing

When Matt Doherty left office for his cushy job in AC, Council President Magovern took over as Acting Mayor. I expect this to be the same scenario with Council President Kinney installed, no?

Reiterating this…
Dear Editor
I hope you made a decision on whether you should are lukewarm, cold or hot
The information you are posting from the newspaper is noteworthy
But, don’t have a one-sided blog
Or a blog that is edited by you
is not good for anyone
David Schneck would not have wanted that
a folded Coast Star fits a birdcage bottom
