That graphic is accurate. People build in a flood zone, house floods, they want tax payers to bail them out. Seems like a reasonable thing to want to avoid, no?

Post Sandy, Belmar took positive steps to reduce flood hazard by constructing the A Street ($1.5M) and Lake Como ($6.5M) Pipes … both were approved by the NJDEP.
Any change to the Silver Lake or Lake Como watershed flood elevations should incorporate those improvements.

Whoever designed that building should be fired. It’s ridiculous. Why such a high roof? Extremely poor design. Horrible
