Although not on the agenda of the upcoming meeting, I would like to congratulate the Board and Down to Earth Construction, the Judge issued the long-awaited trial decision a few days ago and upheld the decision of the Board to allow the townhouses at the whitehouse property location. A win for the entire Belmar community, looking forward to seeing the project completed.
@step forward: This is excellent news. The motives of the opposition to the White House project were questionable at best. Seems that it waa all about their coming to the table late with an offer after Down To Earth had a contract to purchase. It’s a shame it was held up for so long. I can’t wait to see the project completed.
#2 well said. I am just glad that Down to Earth Construction did not bail on the project during the lengthy wait period, when most developers would have, I mean the carrying costs alone to sit a wait. I am happy that they hung in there and got a great result. It does show that behind that company are truly great people invested in the good of the Belmar community.
What happened to the Booskerdoo application? Last I read they were trying to add a bakery to the coffee shop application.
From the February 24th Zoning Board Agenda –
Resolution dismissing the application of James Caverly/Booskerdoo Coffee, 1012
Main Street
Patience is a wonderful thing. Has the Appeal time elapsed?
Why does booskerdoo want to move to that location right across the street from Dunkin and a block down from the bagel store? Not to mention, that I think we have more than enough of those types of places in town already.
#3- Easy, easy on the kudos. The value of that property, as with all other properties along the shore, have increased 20% or more in the past year. The wait has not been painful, rather extra money in his pawket. I can guarantee you had the values plummeted 20% or more, he would have bailed.
12th Avenue is too narrow for the condo proposal … all Belmar avenues north of 12th are wider, and still get congested by trucks making deliveries to condos … USPS, Fedex, UPS, Amazon & DHL.
@8 Sucks for the seller who was locked in at 2018 price only to close in 2021.
@#5, does this mean the addition of the bakery is going to be dismissed or the entire coffee shop?
