  1. Better get used to it. This is only the beginning. Lots of developers have been watching this one. There’s incredible profit to be made. We’re not in Belmar anymore Dorothy.

  2. I can’t believe it. A greedy developer won against the people. I am just shocked. (Sound of sarcasm detector exploding).
November’s coming folks. We can replace two board members and a mayor. Unless of course you want to live in Long Branch south. Remember this feeling and bring it into the voting booth.

  3. They don’t care what you think. Walsifer is a developer with a familiar partner. There should be an appeal process to hold it off for awhile.

  4. The mayor did not vote this was before the zoning board. Most of the members of the zoning board were appointed by the prior administration, when Doherty was Mayor. Gerry and Company don’t want you to remember that the dems set this into motion. Doherty came and spoke in favor of this application and is a supporter of Gerry and Company—- So don’t be fooled Gerry is no independent (oh wait that’s how he started but he flipped to being a dem after losing)

  5. Jerry was there last night and didn’t say a thing during public session. But I’m sure he will arm chair QB this now.

  6. #4 and 9- You guys are grasping at straws by claiming that Walsifer has no influence on this. It’s laughable. It was Walsifer and co that literally changed the height restrictions for the redevelopment plan BEFORE there was even a request for it. Remember that? Or was that Jerry’s fault too? So desperate to hang on to the people with little ‘r’s next to their name. Even when they are against your interests. It’s so friggin sad.

  7. There is conflict of interest at every turn with this administration. To say the mayor has no influence over the the zoning or planning board is ridiculous.

  8. WHAT KNOWLEDGE DID PALMISANO HAVE ON THE ZONING BOARD? WHY NOT MISS ANNMARIE WHO HAD QUESTIONS TO ASK. I DID NOT SEE HIM OPEN UP ANY PLANS. GOOD BYE WALSIFER.

  9. It all started with pig farms … being one of the 13 British colonies, New Jersey’s land use law follows the Brits … the Planning Board is the Aristocracy who make land use decisions.
The Zoning Board (aka- Court of the Commons) was established to allow the peasants to decide pig farm locations.
The Aristocracy didn’t care where the pig farms were, as long as they got their pork.

  10. The planning board in Sea Girt just opposed plans for an additional paddle court in Crescent Park, because it’s not in line with the town’s Master Plan. Maybe we can get those folks over here, at least they can follow their own rules.

  11. 19. It appears that they follow the master plan and don’t bend and break the rules for their buddies.

  12. Sea Girt doesn’t have a Zoning Board of Adjustment … all land use decisions are made by the Planning Board that adopted their Master Plan.
