When was the decision made to store our EMS vehicles in Manasquan? And who made that decision? That does not seem to be in best interest of Belmar residents. And still no plan for the proposed EMS building on 12th? I really want to like this Administration but nothing gets done. And I also heard the fuel pump is still not working. I hope we are holding the contractor accountable since their install for the floats didn’t go as planned and still needs a “few more tweaks” according to the Mayor of Freehold ( errr I mean BA).
As the original plan called for there is one in the north and south most of the time floating in the response areas. When there is a call for service the other floats to a middle location. The plan was developed after reviewing statistical information, and predicting the call volumes. Staffing plan was developed and evolved to meet the needs and continues to provide a high level of service to the community. The response statistics speak for themselves. The EMS employees are dedicated public servants to each community they serve and have done an outstanding job.
The agreement and model is being used DCA Local Government Services as a model to be used throughout the state.
You can say what you would like, and hide behind a hidden screen name. I will say that I was hired prior to Eddie arriving in Belmar, and did not need his assistance getting hired originally. I worked with 3 administrations and got along and worked well with most. I have moved on, and do not require the assistance of him to get a “Job”. The truth is that I still receive phone calls from employees on questions of various departments or programs and have not once hesitated to spend time assisting them with these questions.
For the EMS program the stats speak for themselves but if you don’t conduct the research, and have an open mind they will not matter much to people like you. It’s a lot easier to create a false narrative than to maybe speak to those members who provide the service, or even the current advisors to the program and understand how it operates and the positives that the program has done.
Disgusted,
So you’re not gonna refute anything Ryan says, you’re just gonna insult?
If the information about the ambulances is inaccurate, point it out with proof and evidence. Otherwise keep quiet.
Why don’t you ask our previous mayor why he bought that rotted piece of property in the first place, and why he didn’t agree to provide an extra $40k to the Belmar First Aid Squad, fresh off the financial strains of covid, instead of giving $1.2 million to the previous BA’s relative who owned the property at 12th and Main. A property that sat for years without a buyer, that is now a huge headache for the town.
I do agree with there being no movement on the property and wonder why well if it needs to be cleaned up, why that has not started yet and why there is no plan in place. I believe it was Dr. Kinney who mentioned selling it?? Is that the new plan now? It’s going to cost a lot more than the $300k in escrow to remediate. Who knows how far underground the contamination is. We could be looking at a lot more than just that lot.
(Deleted by Editor.) And don’t forget, the town refused to pay the 80 grand or so to keep it afloat. Makes sense. Let’s buy a contaminated property and build on it for millions rather than give the first aid 80k.
You can give it a try but there is no way to spin that.
Every singe one of those gas stations are remediated PRIOR to close of escrow.
Only a fool (Belmar) would purchase a remediation site prior to the remediation.
the large former ESSO Bayway refinery in Linden has been bought, sold and traded many times without remediation
This property is certainly the new administration’s problem but not their fault. It was purchased with a bs appraisal showing no soil issues all the while on the DEP website as needing remediation. Call out the appraiser and make them do it correctly. It’s hard to believe that a reputable company could miss the most obvious issue with this property. It’s certainly not worth what we paid for it.
Mr Creamer
Seriously comparing those two things? That remediation has been ongoing for years. The site is colossal.
There is no defending this little town buying that little property before the remediation was done. Add in the family member of an administration official? And it is beyond the beyonds.
In real estate transactions everyday, if there is a buried oil tank, the OWNER handles the remediation and the buyer closes when the state DEP gives a clean bill. We’re waiting now anyway, why not let the former owners of the property deal with the clean up? They made the mess after all. It was a horrible decision and there is literally no excuse for it.
A major cost factor with gas station remediation is contaminated soils disposal (tipping fees) … Monmouth County would charge less to Belmar than the prior property owner (private entity).
Do you think the current Mayor really wants the job? I feel like it’s one of those things where you liked the challenge to get the job but, now that you have the job it’s not what you thought.
The only problem with Jerry resigning or being recalled is that we will then have to deal with the arrogant council president Mark Levis as mayor.
Kind of like having Kamala as president if Biden goes away.
It is pretty clear that you don’t know Mark Levis at all. He’s kind, smart, considerate, and a hard worker. My guess is that you are thinking of Ed Kirschenbaum, Tom Brennan, Matt Doherty, Brian McGovern, McCracken, when you choose the word arrogant. Maybe look up the definition.
Our little town’s government is a breath of fresh air compared to the embarrassing clown show in congress. A group of unsupervised children could do better at choosing a speaker. Finally they had a sane and normal candidate in Tom Emmer (R-MN), and that poor ******* was torpedoed by the worlds largest and orangest baby. Simply because Mr Emmer refused to break the law for old Donnie boy (which is actually a good thing because those who did break the law for Donnie are all flipping like the flying Wallendas). Oh and Mr Emmer is ok with same sex marriage. An unforgivable sin in the modern GOP. The party that cries about government overreach wants the government to ban same sex marriages. Logic has no place for these morons.
We may never live to see another self inflicted mess like this again in our lifetime so grab the popcorn and watch the pathetic melodrama unfold.
Our council meetings are models of decorum and efficiency in comparison.
Education,
Are you asking what I’m saying? Is it difficult to comprehend? Or are you asking for an elaboration of what I said? Is it hard to digest? Is it too complicated?
In simplest terms:
Boy our legislative process here in Belmar is a heck of a lot better than those folks down in the capital.
Does that help? I don’t think I can dumb it down anymore than that.
I’m sorry, what? Who is blaming?
I’m pointing out factual events in contrast with our own.
Not sure what you mean by blaming, nor do I know what you mean by ‘liberal democrat’. I’m a right of center independent. No Republican in their right mind shouldn’t be embarrassed by what’s happening in the house right now. (are you suggesting it’s someone else’s fault?). If you’re not worried about the party, then you’re not paying attention.
The republican candidate for council once again didn’t do himself any favors. He might want to reconsider the advice of his overlords on attacking officials in public. If you want to debate, propose a debate. We would all welcome such an event, and I bet it would be well attended. I don’t even know what your platform is, sir. How are you going to help me? How are you going to help my neighbors? These displays of outrage over what, mussel harvesting?, are ridiculous, and there’s no way I can see you sitting on the council anytime soon. Keep your Red Bank tactics out of Belmar.
Nominating this clown is another example of how the Republican party has disintegrated under the leadership of 45. Even on a local level they cannot come up with a viable candidate. VOTE FOR DONOVAN.
Perhaps they should be ‘handling’ it better. I don’t think, however, that it’s fair to excuse the admin that bought the thing in the first place. A contaminated property owned by a staff member’s family. I’m a sure you are incredibly upset about that too. Right? Right?
If this Republican candidate is the best they have to offer, we have big problems. He should be ashamed of himself for his bullying tactics and the Belmar Republican club should be ashamed of his behavior. Ms. Donovan, on the other hand, is one class act. She didn’t need our unlikeable mayor to come to her defense. She handled herself with dignity and grace. Not sure why the Republican candidate has “no 5G towers” on his signs. I think it was Ms. Donovan who created signs and spearheaded a groundswell of support in opposition to the towers. In a small town like this, people should vote issues, not based upon party affiliation. This election, it’s a no brainer.
Why do you insist on making other people do what you do? This is a free country. You don’t wanna vote, don’t vote. Stop trying to make everyone bend to your will.
During the previous admin, I remember Buccafusco and Rondinaro coming in very hot a few times. Is this different or you just don’t like him?
He makes a good point but could have done it a bit cooler. If people are knowingly getting sick why wouldn’t we do something? That is negligence.
I’m curious what Donovan thinks about the environmental issue and why we are not moving on this. Is it a non issue for the town like the geese and first aid?
I read in the Coast Star that the boro was denied a grant to repair the fuel dock and now they’re looking elsewhere for funds. I have an idea for councilman/harbor commissioner Mark Leviis. Why not start charging the concessionaire of the Fisherman’s Den rent for the 20+ rowboat rental slips, storage trailers throughout our marina and winter boat storage in our marina. That’s a good place to start to retrieve some revenue!
By the way, the black van used to store junk is still parked in front of the marina office for years now. I wonder if it’s even registered? Who is that concessionaire anyway?
Could we have gotten an American made piano? Sad if we are getting screwed. How long does it take for concrete to cure? Which will be first, piano or first aid.
I couldn’t hear some of what Mr Creamer was discussing for affordable housing. It sounds like the town was charging fees it shouldn’t have? For how long?
Seriously. What is the deal with this piano? How long does it take to make the thing? And how long after we get it does it get removed because an overserved brat ********* in it one summer night?
When was the decision made to store our EMS vehicles in Manasquan? And who made that decision? That does not seem to be in best interest of Belmar residents. Don’t worry about it. None of your business. The mayor and council is in charge and we do not need to be informed.
The ambulances are not stored in Manasquan.

Yeah, ok Ryan, there’s so much to say here, but I’ll wrap it all up with, hasn’t Eddie found you a job yet
You can say what you would like, and hide behind a hidden screen name. I will say that I was hired prior to Eddie arriving in Belmar, and did not need his assistance getting hired originally. Bingo
Fresh off the financial strains of covid. Hah. Who are you kidding. (Deleted by Editor.) Can the books be shared publicly now?
Do you put any blame on the Hines family who ran the first aid and also refused to sell to Belmar.
Do they live in Belmar still?
(Deleted by Editor.) And don’t forget, the town refused to pay the 80 grand or so to keep it afloat. Makes sense. Let’s buy a contaminated property and build on it for millions rather than give the first aid 80k.
You can give it a try but there is no way to spin that.
Well if the 80k didn’t go into someone’s personal slush fund, I’m ok with that.
Open the books. Or were the books burned.
To Slurpee,
The financials have been on their website for a few years.

And this recent article in the Coast Star explains about the donations

1000’s of gas stations get remediated every year

Jerry is getting a taste of the same medicine he gave to the previous administration.
He wanted it. He got it. Now he doesn’t know what to do with it.
The only problem with Jerry resigning or being recalled is that we will then have to deal with the arrogant council president Mark Levis as mayor.

DON’T VOTE!!!
Oops, sorry. Didn’t realize.
well Biden and Obama were against same sex marriages…..seek and ye shall find….roll the tape
Yea in 2008. We evolve.
Well, most of us anyway.
You are typical liberal Democrat. Blame somebody else.
I’m sorry, what? Who is blaming?

That property will be a financial nightmare for Belmar taxpayers. Don’t forget how it all came to be.
Yes, we will remember the current Mayor and Council for the way they handled this property. Or lack of handling this property.
Perhaps they should be ‘handling’ it better. I don’t think, however, that it’s fair to excuse the admin that bought the thing in the first place. A contaminated property owned by a staff member’s family. I’m a sure you are incredibly upset about that too. Right? Right?

Don’t vote then don’t complain
Why do you insist on making other people do what you do? This is a free country. You don’t wanna vote, don’t vote. Stop trying to make everyone bend to your will.
Let’s go to the meeting archives.

(Asterisks are mine, Editor.)
Is fuel dock back up and running? If not, why not? Tax payer money was paid to have this project done by now.
