Work on Main Elevator modernization began Dec 11th.
Tenants are using freight elevator which has broken down several times. Freight elevator door is very heavy to pull and push. There are 90+ yr old tenants who use walkers, some have nearly fell trying to hold walker with one hand and
1,000lb freight. elevator door with other hand. There are tenants who use wheelchairs and scooter chairs. Nearly four months later still waiting to use main elevator. Now elevator
needs to go thru three inspections..electrical, fire, and state.
Are there dates scheduled for these inspections? The handling of this project is an example of how the government manages …. it’ll get done, no hurries.
