Trump bent over for Hochul and to make Norway Richer

Equinor, a Norwegian energy company, is the owner and developer of the Empire Wind project. The Norwegian government owns a majority stake in Equinor. Empire Wind is an offshore wind farm project located off the coast of Long Island, New York.

Norway also does this –

  1. Hahahahahahahanahaha. Words can’t describe how funny this is.

Careful admin- Trump supporters, the few left, get very very very triggered when their dear leader is insulted in any way.
I mean, the rest of us have known that he’s a self serving child with the IQ of a tuna fish sandwich, but they literally believe that he is without flaw.
    Classic.

While windmills don’t kill whales, harpoons definitely do.

    1. Sir, don’t you ever wonder about a so-called system that puts up a s*** like trump vs a m**** like harris for POTUS?
      ————————————————————————————-
The only thing left to American Patriots is full scale rebellion. Nothing less than that is possible, unfortunately .

      (Asterisks are mine, Editor.)

    2. Calm down with your TDS……few left….who is in the WH? Not Kamala…bet ya still hold tight to your J6 blankie

(Asterisks in name are mine, Editor.)

  2. Looks like the African Queen (Musk) that this administration put in charge of making the government even less efficient was allegedly on drugs the whole time. It certainly explains his odd behavior.
I’m not really ok with a drug addled brat having such access to our democratic institutions. In fact, I thought be were deporting the drug addled immigrants.
Thank goodness they’ve finally had enough of him and he’s sculling off back to his evil lair.

  3. Nix the offshore wind power … according to this morning’s Asbury Park Press … the New Jersey BPU saw the light and is going forward with Nuclear energy for our needs … with full support of the Trump administration.

      1. Nuclear power, while not having the byproduct of carbon dioxide, has all sorts of other potential problems.
Three mile island, Chernobyl, and Fukushima. Yes, that’s only three ‘incidents’ but boy oh boy. Anyone ok with that happening around here? It’s also extremely expensive to build and operate a plant.
Investing in clean renewable energy is the way to go. It is violently opposed by the those who profit from the status quo. And those who profit from the status quo have a lot of power. They spend millions trying to convince voters that wind and solar are bad. They are often successful because they politicize the issue, and people are generally ****** that believe everything their social media algorithm tells them.
It’s not a red blue issue. It’s a sustainability issue.

        (Asterisks are mine, Editor.)

        1. The Paris Climate Accords were signed in France because France generates 85% of their electricity by Nuclear, with 15% being recycled fuel rods.

Lacey Twsp, Ocean County would welcome repowering of the Oyster Creek NGS.

          btw-
          Solar power is Nuclear power

          1. Ha, nice try.
We all know you know that’s a misleading statement. Yes the sun creates nuclear fusion at its core and that what is collected by solar panels. But nuclear reactors use, well, nuclear reactors. They can melt down and cause catastrophic problems right here on earth.
That doesn’t happen with solar panels.
France is at around 65% nuclear.
Nuclear is an option for sure. It gets us away from fossil fuels (which should be the first order of business). But it is dangerous and very very expensive.

  4. Meltdown is theoretically impossible with new generation nuclear reactors and a New Jersey company has taken the lead. Forget about dealing with square head europeans peddling their offshore wind farms. I like Made in U.S.A.

    https://holtecinternational.com/

    1. The key word is theoretically.
You want one here in Belmar? I didn’t think so. And even if there isn’t a meltdown, they still produce nuclear waste. Even the cutting edge ones. What do you propose we do with that? Your backyard? It’s only incredibly dangerous for 90 years or so.

Made in USA nuclear plants? Like Rostatom Energy? EDF? Engie? Haha. We live in a global market society. Who ever gives the best bid, gets the job.

There are plenty of US made wind turbines (Siemens, GE, etc)

Plus, what do you have against Europeans. There been making top notch products since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.

    2. Theoretically. Very comforting. The titanic was theoretically unsinkable.

How about the nuclear waste produced by even the latest cutting edge nuclear power? Where would you propose we keep that?

      1. The Titanic wasn’t Made in U.S.A.

Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station (a GE BWR) in Lacey Twsp, made Ocean County the most growing population county in New Jersey. From 1969 to 2018, OCNGS illuminated more Belmar homes than the Gospel.

Spent fuel rods (aka nuclear waste) only used about 5% of the energy therein for commercial use and can be recycled. Jimmy Carter decided not to recycle spent fuel rods. Instead, store them in a geologic depository @ Yucca Mountain, Nevada.

OCNGS has 43 transportable dry fuel caskets on a concrete slab awaiting shipment. Lacey Twsp is being paid to baby sit the caskets.

        1. I never said the titanic was made in America. It was made by strong capable Irish hands.
My point was that it was considered “theoretically” unsinkable. Few things are more dangerous than hubris.

Even the plants that recycle spent fuel rods still wind up with waste. Just less of it. Again, not interested in having them in my neighborhood, you?
Oyster Creek was shut down in 2018 after a study showed it had a rather deleterious effect on the Barnegat Bay. Water from the bay was used as coolant.
Also, a raging Ocean County forest fire came dangerously close to the plant earlier this year. Imagine if it was operational.

The problems are the cost, the danger, and the fact that no one wants it anywhere near their house.

          Otherwise it’s the perfect choice.

          1. The NJBPU nuclear solicitation only involves existing NJ nuclear sites. Oyster Creek, Lacey Twsp, Ocean County and Artificial Island, Lower Alloways Creek Twsp, Salem County.

          1. Josie Wales- great movie, but not great at context. Who, or what, are you referring to?

Who isn’t getting paid enough? The American worker? Probably right. Whose taxes are “skyrocketing”? Certainly not the American worker. Contrary to what the current politicians would like you to believe, we’ve been paying roughly the same income tax for about 30 years. Our property tax? That does go up bc it’s tied to the value of our homes which actually have skyrocketed.

Are you referring to Ireland? If so, you should take a class on exposition.
You should also take 5 minutes to read about Irish taxes. Some sectors are increasing but others are decreasing. It’s a shift of focus (common in the EU) and kind of cancels each other out.

Any any event, maybe be a tad clearer who you’re referring to. And, before you refer to them, take a beat and check to make sure that the definitive statement you’re about to make is actually true.
We need more of that these days.

  5. Real estate taxes go up bc spending goes up. Not because values increase. They do a budget/approve it then make a division of total valuations . Then your taxes go up or down based on your valuation. I was referring to Lacey township.

    1. Property taxes. Real estate taxes are something else entirely.
The town assesses the value of homes and increases (and to your point, decreases) your property tax burden. I have lived in Belmar for nearly 40 years, my property taxes have never gone down. Spending goes up for sure.
The problem is the politicization of what constitutes necessary spending.
Generally speaking, republicans are all about spending on corporate subsidies and military parades for fragile despots. And democrats are all about spending to provide healthcare for seniors and the poor.

      1. Please explain how Republicans spend on corporate subsidies . How many military parades have we had? Democrats spend $$ on illegal aliens also. Part of the reason CA is broke. NJ democrats spend huge amounts on illegal aliens also. Free college. Both parties spend like drunken sailors.

        1. Republicans consistently approve corporate subsidies. To the tune of $181 billion annually. Do you need more explanation?

The cost for “illegals” is about $150 billion annually. But that includes all the budgets for the agencies that fight and manage illegal immigration. Do you want to cut those agencies? I didn’t think so.

Free college- you’re referring to federal student loan forgiveness? You’ve never read about how it works I assume. It has more strings than a Trump prenup.

Military Parades- we’ve had about 11 is our country’s history. Always celebrating a military victory. We’ve never had one celebrating an egomaniacal draft dodger’s birthday. Until now. Trumps little celebration of his non accomplishments will be around $45 million.

California is “broke”. This is my favorite. And before I go on, I ask that you please give Fox News a rest. They are lying to you. And they got caught lying to you. They paid 3/4 of a billion dollars for lying to you. Ok? Find a news source that hasn’t had to pay 3/4 of a billion dollars for lying to their own audience. Literally every single other news source fits that bill.
Californias GDP is over $4 trillion dollars. What does that mean? It means that California’s economy is the fourth largest in the world. Not the fourth largest in the US, the fourth largest in the world. Only larger economies are the US, China, and Germany. Let that sink in.
Go ahead and bash CA all you want. But they are doing something right.
The right loves to hate California. I get it. California is progressive. And it is an example of how successful a progressive government can be.
It makes the right nuts. Well, nuttier.

          Hope this helps.

    2. for years … Lacey Twsp benefitted from direct payment of Oyster Creek’s NJ Gross Receipt & Franchise Tax (GRAFT).

now, no electric production = no GRAFT

  6. Josie Wales- great movie
    ———————————–
Yes, I liked that movie, but another real good movie about that period is “Ride with the Devil” Toby McGuire & Jewell

  7. So much for off shore wind power

A company developing an offshore wind power project for New Jersey has filed a request to cancel its plans, citing economic and political headwinds.

Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind, based in Brooklyn, petitioned the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities on June 4 to terminate its OREC order, or Offshore Renewable Energy Certificates order.

The company, which is a partnership between power and fuel company Shell and EDF Renewables North America, was in the process of developing a 1.5-gigawatt wind turbine power project east of Atlantic City. Had it been constructed, the project would have powered about 700,000 homes across the state.
