  1. Former TV personality and current incompetent secretary of defense, Pete Hegseth just removed the name Harvey Milk from a Navy vessel.
Milk was a Navy combat veteran during the Korean War. What? Well why on earth would Pete remove his name from a ship? Did Milk dodge the draft? No that was Trump. Did Milk use campaign money to silence a porn star he slept with while married to his third wife? No that was Trump. Was Milk accused of sexual misconduct by over 30 women? No that was Trump. Did Milk file for bankruptcy four separate times and defraud dozens of businesses? No that was Trump.

What was Milk’s crime? What did he do to get his name removed from a Navy vessel? He was openly gay.

Any gubernatorial candidate that does not condemn this insanely corrupt and immoral administration will not get my vote.

    1. Good. Go vote another democrat governor and see most if not all of your cash go to the government in one way or another.

      1. I’ve laid out these stats before:
3.66 billion gone from the market since Trump
One big beautiful bill increases deficit by $2.6 Trillion (yes, trillion)
He has spent more than $200 million more at this point than his last term (that doesn’t include the $45 million for the North Korea style parade).
Money is flying out the window with the Republican admin.

My income taxes for the state of NJ haven’t changed in years. But even if your ill conceived stereotype based on the Fox News liar hose being spayed in your face WAS true, I’d happily pay a little more money as long as the governor stood up to the giant orange man child.
But I’m losing money by the second as it stands. And so are you.

You didn’t address the point about the childish homophobia involved with the Milk decision. I understand. It’s easier to just worry about taxes than it is to stand up for the marginalized.

  2. I guess when the dog whisperer, Kristi Noem (don’t ask her to train you pets) sends ICE agents to raid our local restaurants and large landscaping companies, we too will all have to face the police state.
The most incompetent administration this country has ever endured. Biden on his worst Sun downing day was better than this nonsense.
When the only job qualification is fealty to the orange messiah, you get unqualified people. An education secretary that thinks AI is A1, a weather bureau chief that wasn’t aware that there is a hurricane season, a defense secretary that sends top secret plans to reporters and his wife, and a botoxed homeland security secretary that can’t answer the most basic questions.
Three and a half more years of this?
My vote goes to anyone that stands up to these nuts.

  3. Gavin Newsom to border czar Tom Homan, after Homan, a pretend tough guy, said anyone standing in his way will be arrested – “That kind of bloviating is exhausting. So, Tom, arrest me. Let’s go.”

    Thus calling his bluff.

I thought republicans were for states rights. I thought republicans were for free trade. I thought republicans had integrity. What the heck happened to the Republican Party? You got the Feds running around pressuring individual states. And you are interfering with the free trade capitalism once championed by Reagonomics. The real GOP would NEVER stand for this much executive branch overreach.
    It’s an unrecognizable party.

    1. Go vote for the democrats and watch socialism invade our country. Opps sorry already here in all blue states

      1. Ah the socialism trope.

I am getting super tired of having to explain this to adults. Adults who probably vote no less.

We’ve had an equal number of dem and repub presidents over the last 60 years or so. If you really think about it, nothing much changes.
But, since you went there, let’s define ‘socialism’

Every popular government program and/or agency is a form of socialism.
Medicare is socialized medicine. The highway system and airports and shipping ports are socialized travel and logistics. The police, all law enforcement agencies (including ICE), and armed services are socialized security. The primary school system and state run universities are social education. And social security, Medicaid, welfare, SNAP, etc are all socialized public health and safety.

When the right complain about ‘socialism’ they are forgetting that they benefit immensely from ALL of the above mentioned programs. I know it’s hard when you realize some mantra you’ve been told to say over and over is actually a lie. And I understand how hard it is to let go of that security blanket that gives you an identity, but just take a moment and think about how you would survive without any of the ‘socialist’ programs I mentioned.

What I worry about is a dictatorship. A singular ideologue who ignores the judicial branch of our government and circumvents the legislative branch. That is something that is ACTUALLY happening.
So, keep fretting about the socialist boogieman while you drive public funded roads, count on public funded law enforcement, enjoy the public funded health care for seniors, educate your children at public funded schools, and fly out of a public funded airport for your vacation.
        It’s all socialism, genius.

Lastly, the ‘blue’ states in this country get less back from the federal government than they give. The ‘red’ states get more back from the federal government than they give. That has been true for decades. The blue states make, the red states take. Chris Christie pointed out this inconvenient fact to Rand Paul of Kentucky a few years ago in an epic take down. It shut Rand up. And that’s no easy feat.
Now THAT is a form of socialism that I would like to end.

  4. All you Doge fans out there.

So it’s good to cut health care for poor children while we spend tens of millions on a military parade for the world’s most insecure silver spoon?

My recommendation, if the answer is yes (it’s a yes or no question), is to actually pay attention to scripture the next time you’re just going through the motions in church.

  5. The events in LA are disturbing. The protests, despite Trumps ego driven attempts to “handle them” are expanding to other states. Inflation is on the rise. The Russia Ukraine war is actually intensifying. The job market is slowing. And economists are warning of a recession.
    All bad.
But, the funniest thing happened the other day. The kind of thing that makes the world seem better. TACO Trump stumbled feebly while climbing the stairs to AF1.
The uncoordinated move, along with the priceless look on the fleshy orange face, was objectively hilarious. Like watching karma in real time.

  6. My recommendation, if the answer is yes (it’s a yes or no question), is to actually pay attention to scripture the next time you’re just going through the motions in church.
    ————————————————————————
They are paying attention to scripture, ” a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.” Eccles. 3

  7. Haha. No, they most certainly are not paying attention.
I was referring to New Testament teachings anyway. I don’t think it’s the vapid reality TV stars who will inherit the earth.

But since you brought it up, a FULL reading of Eccles 3 is definitely in order to anyone who supports this president’s actions.
Perhaps something so profound might finally lift the veil from their eyes. Nothing else seems to.

  8. Testament is right.
Trumpism and Christianity are literally at opposite ends of the ideological spectrum.
It is quite impossible to engage in both simultaneously. This will be very difficult for some MAGA folks to accept, but it’s the absolute truth.

    1. “Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things which are God’s” (Matthew 22:21)

  9. Congrats to Claire Deicke for winning the Dem LD30 General Assembly primary without polluting Belmar with political lawn signs

    1. Congrats Claire

With you on the lawn sign issue. I think I’d vote for a candidate whose only campaign promise was not to use them.

(Asterisks in name are mine, Editor.)

  10. Looks like Sherrill won the dem primary. So it’s Sherrill v Ciattarelli.
    May the best woman win.

Advice for Mr Ciattarelli: distance yourself from TACO. It is one thing to embrace the dictator for the radicals in your primary, but you need to win a state that had the good sense to vote against Trump last November. And his poll numbers have only gotten worse. Do yourself a favor and speak out against him. Due process, the rule of law, constitutional norms, separation of powers, these are all on the ballot and you want to be on the right side of it. If you go all in on TACO, you will lose. Again.

    1. Sherrill is the one who made millions while in congress. Became a millionaire on the backs of hard working people. Yes she and her husband made millions in the stock market. Hmmm?? Democratics will drive this state into an abyss too far to turn around.

      1. Hahaha. I’m sorry, you’re angry at Sherrill for being wealthy? Are you joking? Sherrill is somewhere in the middle of the pack in Congress as far as net worth is concerned. And, as you probably don’t know otherwise you wouldn’t make this argument, nine out of the top wealthiest Congress members are republicans.
And hey, it’s cool. When people like Trump get rich literally off of the backs of working Americans, it means he’s a good business man. When Sherrill does well with investments (also makes her finances public, something Trump has never done), she got rich off of the people. Rationalization is a powerful tool against truth.

Do you ever get tired of the blatant hypocrisy? I mean seriously. The woman is a Navy vet with four kids and a Navy vet husband. She has a solid net worth. If she was a Republican dude you’d be applauding her work ethic without question.

Meanwhile old Jack makes about $4 mill a year. Definitely a man of the people 🤣

One thing is for sure, no matter which one wins, our taxes won’t change. Maybe if Ciattarelli wins we’ll get plastic bags littered all over the place again, but that’s about it.
In my view, only one has the courage to stand up to a worthless **** of a president who is stripping away your rights as you obliviously applaud.

      2. Being wealthy is bad when you’re a Democrat. Being wealthy shows that you are a good businessman if you’re a republican. Got it. Thank you.
It is almost impossible to keep up with the whiplash like hypocrisy of the GOP, so this helps.

  11. No kings day protest attended by over 5 million Americans.
This is what this country has always done well. Fighting against tyranny has always been part of our fundamental principle.
When a president (ANY president of any party) tries to impose his own personal agenda on the population without checks and balances and without adhering to the balance of power made up by the three branches of government, that’s tyranny.
And no, we don’t stand for it. What I saw, made me proud.
    God bless the USA.

    1. What is Trumps personal agenda? So you’re proud of people throwing rocks at cops? So you’re proud of people defacing buildings? Answer these questions

      1. Sure, I’d be happy to answer.
Question 1- Trumps agenda is what it has always been. Make Trump wealthier at all costs. He has always been very open about that. From the days of desperately trying to make the society pages in Manhattan, through his bankruptcies, saved by reality TV show, and into the politician character he’s currently playing.

Question 2,3- I’m not crazy about people throwing rocks at cops, unless the cops are brutalizing unarmed peaceful protestors (something they’ve done occasionally throughout history). But as a rule, while I appreciate our first amendment right to protest unjust policies, I prefer that nobody gets hurt. Buildings? Yea, I don’t like that at all. I was especially upset when the mob of gullible sore losers attacked law enforcement and defaced the capitol building in DC. That was like watching spoiled children attack the ice cream truck because it ran out of their favorite flavor. Just senseless violence and destruction. Pointlessness.
That must have made you furious as well.
Anyway, that’s it in a nutshell. Hope that answers your questions.
