This isn’t a news “article”. It’s an opinion piece written by a guy who clearly has investments in fossil fuel. Look him up. Now, don’t get me wrong, he is entitled to his opinion. But let’s not pretend that it’s an unbiased analysis of energy consumption and cost. It’s literally one guys opinion.
He totally ignores the absolute horror show that fracking caused in Pennsylvania. Water contamination, air pollution, and waste water disposal (sorry PA, we don’t want it either). He ignores the air pollution caused by coal fired power plants and the economic toll created by the health effects of said pollution. Any true calculation of cost for any type of power source MUST include all of the costs associated with that particular power source. Pollution remediation and health care are expensive. Too expensive to ignore.
He also fails to mention that NJ never had more than 7 coal power plans. And, at least he’s consistent, he fails to mention that 4 of the 7 were shuttered before Murphy took office (there are folks that will blame him anyway). Lastly, there is a bit of contradiction in the screed. He talks about energy usage being “flat”. He doesn’t explain why. Yet he definitely knows why. It’s because of laws incentivizing more energy efficiency in products we use (something he’s likely against). But then he goes on to whine about the energy needs increasing. Well, which is it?
There are so many people that confuse option with fact. This “article” is a great example of that. I will admit that he is bringing up an important topic, one that should be debated. But he has no real objectivity.
The above is an opinion piece written by a guy who clearly has investments in green energy. Now, don’t get me wrong, he is entitled to his opinion. But let’s not pretend that it’s an unbiased analysis of energy consumption and cost. It’s literally one guys opinion.

Just in time for an election. The government takes TOO much of YOUR money all year then gives it back to you to buy your vote.
