  1. It must be that easy. The other candidate is literally saying the same thing. I guess he gets a pass for some reason.

If the fossil fuel lobbyists didn’t spend billions to make every ***** with a computer believe that renewable energy sources are the devil, then we would have more, and cheaper, energy. We can’t keep burning coal or tearing apart Pennsylvania for gas. We are smart innovative people. We shouldn’t be using the same form of energy that was used in the 1300s.

Anyway, neither one of these candidates will lower my property taxes. And my utility rates will continue to be dictated by market forces.
Therefore, my vote will go to the only candidate that isn’t sucking up to an unhinged dictator who is tanking the economy, trying to take away our freedoms, and is literally trying to suppress information on a (Deleted by Editor).

    May the best woman win

    (Asterisks are mine, Editor.)

      1. Thank you for the tip. But you know as well as anyone that it is no longer a fair fight. Fossil fuels enjoy tax payer subsidies to help reduce costs (never made sense to me. We pay in order to lower our costs?). But renewable energy no longer enjoys tax payer subsidies thanks to a weird obsession with oil that may or may not have something to do with an oil rich nation gifting a free luxury 747 airplane to our president.
In any event, one type is artificially lower and the other is not.
It is nice to have a choice, but I prefer a level playing field.

      1. I’m not sure where you get your news, but they have two debates scheduled for Sept and Oct. Maybe turn off Fox or whatever echo chamber news outlet is lying to you.

Perhaps you’re thinking of Mr Trump when he refused to debate Harris for a second time? Or when he refused to debate in the primaries at all? Certainly didn’t blame him. He’s a pretty terrible debater. Just kinda rambles.

Anyway, you can watch two debates between the NJ candidates. Sept 21 is the first.

        1. Are your facts straight? She turned down multiple debates. Yes, I suppose she agreed to two after the post was made.

          1. My guess is that you get your news from social media? Or from the Jack Ciattarelli campaign website.
Mt Ciattarelli wanted three televised debates, the Sherrill campaign agreed to two. Mr Ciattarelli in a political gas bag manner that would make Machiavelli blush, tried to make it seem like she turned down ‘multiple’. After seeing his commercials, it’s not surprising. He is not big on ideas, but he is crushing it on complaining.
He wanted three, she wanted two. Make of that what you will, but when you form your opinion, please use facts.

  2. Isn’t Mikie Sherrill a US Congresswoman representing the state of NJ? I believe so. So why isn’t she doing something NOW to get our utility bills lowered. Why did she allow them to get so high to begin with? Why is she waiting if she becomes governor to do something? She obviously doesn’t represent her constituents in NJ very well as a Congresswoman, why should we believe she’ll do something as governor? Political rhetoric!

    1. You’re right, it’s political rhetoric. The exact same political rhetoric coming from her opponent. Neither one of them can “lower utility rates on day one”. It’s all theater. If you’re a republican, part of the basic political philosophy is no government interference in the free markets. Or at least minimal interference. “Keep government out of our lives” is the usual mantra. Until either gas prices, drug prices, grocery prices, or utility prices start to rise. Then it’s all “why isn’t the government doing something?!?!?”
I don’t understand the hypocrisy, and likely never will.
I’m voting for the only candidate that won’t tolerate the insane person currently occupying the WH. Everything else is just fluff to me. I’ve lived long enough to see that we need to get rid of this mad king and go back to the actual Republican Party.

  3. For those of you who believe that the governor can somehow wave a magic wand and make private companies charge less money for things, I have bad news. The following states all have dramatically rising utility costs: Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Those of you keen political wonks will notice this is almost exactly a 50-50 split between “red” states and “blue”’states. So, I hope that helps you realize that blaming a single person for your high electric bill, while super satisfying in a lazy way, is not a great way to plan your vote.
Look at character, experience, and their ability to stand up to spoiled bullies. Do that, and it’s the easiest choice you’ll ever make.
