Whatever they or any other group of politicians do will mean an increase in real estate taxes. Belmar will have more traffic than NYC.
Are you talking about property taxes? Or real estate taxes. They are two different things.
You’d think, with a monstrosity like this, the tax revenue would increase to cover the cost of services that the influx of people will need. Frankly, with all the new developments in town, we have more tax revenue from a lot of high ends homes and condos. I don’t understand why property taxes keep increasing. I know that the town budget is public information but who has time to go through that line by line? And it doesn’t seem to matter if we have a democrat admin or a republican administration. My taxes have gone up significantly under both. Is there an independent choice?
I think I said Real Estate Taxes.
Do you mean property taxes? Or are you talking about real estate taxes?
Either way, you’re probably right. Doesn’t seem to matter who’s governor, taxes go up.
I think I said real estate taxes
You did. Just making sure. A surprising number of folks confuse the two.
I agree no matter who gets in, real estate and/or property taxes will likely continue to rise.
As for the more traffic than NYC prediction (also agree), we can always charge congestion pricing. If folks from out of town want to come in to Belmar, they gotta pay.
You can’t keep adding people without adding more roads.
And traffic is already bad. And there is really no way to expand the roads any more. We’re out of room.
Out of room and out of luck
While there is such a thing as room, there is no such thing as luck. It’s just circumstance and hard work.
Don’t give up hope. We only have three more years (yikes) (Deleted by Editor.). And the mid terms will give Congress back to the dems. There is still a chance to go back to a normal democracy. With a normal traditional Republican Party.
HAR-HAR-HARDEE-HAR-HAR!!!
That common exclamation of sarcastic laughter is actually:
HARDEE (or Hardy) HAR HAR
You don’t need the first two HARs
If you’re gonna be snarky, at least try to be accurate.
gettout’aheer!!!
Hey fool. It’s the democrats in congress that want to give $$ to illegals.
Hi Josie
That is not true. And, it would literally take almost no effort to educate yourself that it’s not true (I’ll never understand why people don’t take even 5 minutes to check facts) Anyway, the dems simply don’t want the ACA subsidies to expire. They also want to try to save Medicaid. If the ACA subsidies expire, anyone paying for insurance on the open market will see their premiums raise by 200% to 300%. If you’re confused, these are working people who do not get insurance through their employer. They pay for it themselves on the open market with the help of ACA subsidies. If the Medicaid cuts take effect, almost 500,000 New Jersey residents will lose health insurance.
There is no plan to give “illegals” free health insurance. In fact, enshrined in the ACA law is the fact that illegals cannot receive Medicaid, nor can they even buy insurance on the open market.
I hope this helps you see how important the dem stance is. If you yourself don’t stand to lose coverage, I would bet my 401k that you know someone who will. When people lose their health insurance we wind up paying way more in the long run.
I’m hopeful that you now see the light and that you, like me, pray that the dems in the senate hold strong against an administration that wants to take affordable healthcare away from the working class so that some billionaires can save some money on their taxes. Now THAT would be foolish.
