  1. Desperate people do/say desperate things. She’s finished. NJ needs a change from the Democratic rule. Suffers from Democraticitis.

    1. Sir, it’s all smoke and mirrors. The so-called democrats run both state houses in trenton and control the state supreme court. even if the so-called republican wins, it’ll be just business as usual. There’s only one issue in this state – free stuff. Nothing will stop the rabble from getting their free stuff.

Answer me this. Why are people who have never worked in their lives, do not work now, and never will work in the future get a say in how tax money is spent?

      DON’T VOTE!!!

    2. Mr D is right. If you want change from democratic rule, you should move. But choose wisely. NJ is at or near the top of every list of best places to live for pay, education, quality of life, etc.
The “red” states have their hand out for federal money way more than the blue ones. But hey, if you want to live in a place with terrible education, terrible access to healthcare, and a state government that tells you what you can read, who you can love, and how you can pray, have at it.

        1. Hahaha. I know it is not easy to hear. But instead of just hurling insults, look it up. For every dollar “blue” states send to the federal government, they get back about 70 cents. For every dollar “red” states send to the federal government, they get back about $1.50. Red states require more federal assistance than blue states. It’s a simple fact and easy as heck to verify.
I other words, blue states make, red states take.
The rest of it: poor healthcare, laws restricting or banning a woman’s right to choose, book bans dictating what you can and can’t read, that’s all factual, based on statistics, and easy to access.

I get your reaction, I do. But saying I’m full of it doesn’t change the reality.

  2. That’s a great article. The Globe may have just set the record for double standard.
Ciatarrellis entire campaign has been to use things Sherril either never said or they were taken out of context, against her. So she takes a page out of the Ciatarrelli playbook and all the sudden it’s mean? What a bunch of babies.

      1. Probably right. Maybe you should leave. But my guess, it’s just a guess, is that you’ll be angry and bitter no matter where you end up.

    1. Well not “all”

It was politics that ended slavery, built the federal highway system, National parks, Medicare, GI Bill, social security benefits, beat the Nazis, the ADA, the FDA, the EPA, insured the banks, took down Joe McCarthy, and on and on and on.

  3. I’m a little perplexed by the recent flier I received from the Republican candidates for Belmar council. It shows a series of development projects, some of which aren’t anywhere near being proposed. Another baffling thing is that one of the candidates has been on the planning board for years. If these projects are so evil, why not do something from your seat on the PB? And for one of the projects (the hideous Mediterranean project), he literally voted in favor of increasing the height restriction.
Talk about misleading. I sure hope no one is falling for this *** **stuff.

(All four of those projects are done deals, to help satisfy our affordable housing responsibility.
    Asterisks are mine, Editor.)

Click here to watch the Mayor talk about affordable housing.

    1. Still, it’s a bit misleading to claim to be against development when you’ve been in the planning board for years. And you voted to make one of them bigger.

How do you explain that I wonder.

  4. Any of the “American First” folks have a comment about the US bailing out Argentina with $20 billion in tax dollars?
    Anyone? Hello? Hmm weird.

    1. Ah yes, the “america last” folks always have something ignorant to say. I guess “Free Palestine” is not cool anymore since our great president did that for you.

      1. Hahahahaha. Classic obfuscation from the modern hypocrite.
First- I’m not a free Palestine person.
Second- The current cease fire agreement was an effort from multiple parties.
Third- Trump gets credit for getting over the finish line. Which is no easy feat and he now has three things in common with Jimmy Carter. Crippling inflation, rising energy cost, and a Middle East peace deal. He should be proud.

Fourth. I’m pointing out the naked hypocrisy of the “America first” crowd. And you know that. Instead of addressing that hypocrisy, you do what your dear leader does. You obfuscate.
Incidentally my hatred for Trump is routed in my absolute love of this country. The two are inextricably linked. And I can say with absolute certainty, that thinking the un-American things that he does on a daily basis are ok, means you do not love America. Period. Sorry.

      2. Might want to hold off on that victory lap (one would think you’d have learned by now). The peace deal that Trump won’t shut up about is more fragile than his own ego. And, like his ego, it looks like it’s in the verge of shattering.

    2. I wouldn’t give one thin American taxpayer dime to anyone around the world except for disaster relief.

    3. Argentina has cards … good beef production and lithium / rare earth minerals.

in 1867, the USA bought Alaska from Russia for $7.2 million … such a bargain nowadays … although there were naysayers at the time … “Seward’s Icebox”

      1. Thanks for the history lesson.
I’m pointing out the hypocrisy. If Biden gave literally ANY country 20 billion, the MAGA cultists would have a collective nervous breakdown. Now they pretend it’s for lithium.

      2. So if we don’t give Argentina billions, we can’t buy their beef (Texas also has btw) and lithium?
If they have products we need, we buy them. It’s called commerce. Been around since about 12,000 BCE
I don’t walk into the CVS and give them a thousand dollars for the privilege of buying a bottle of aspirin.
