I know others will comment “find another job”, “respect is earned”, “give an example”…..The truth is that we have been treated like garbage for the last 3 1/2 years. Some of us have been loyal, hard working borough employees for many years and to have a new administration- who haven’t even been in the area long enough to appreciate the history of the town-come in and destroy everything we have all been working so hard for, is so disheartening.
Hopefully whoever wins the election in November will understand that it’s really the borough employees who keep things running and we deserve just a hint of appreciation and recognition.
Mayor Buccafusco has deep, long time roots in Belmar, even though he was not a full time resident for all those years. Just like this Editor.

We need a leader. Someone who will work with the department heads and the employees of Belmar. I agree with the person above “the employees keep this town running.” We need a Mayor that cares about this town.
Mike DeBlasio’s family is the 6th generation. You can’t get anymore authentic.
My hope and faith are with De Blasio.
Unfortunately, the Belmar employees live mostly outside of Belmar. Spread the word if you want a Mayor who will care about your well being. Those who know, just know.
Mr DeBlasio is not a 6th generation Belmar resident. He’s a transplant. It’s his wife’s family that are the long time residents. I’m sorry to point that out, but I also think it’s important to be authentic. Speaking of which, if that’s your measuring stick for voting, then no one is more qualified than Mrs Roper-Robinson Her family has lived here longer than anyone. Now that’s authentic.
Let’s be honest Mayor Buccafusco has been in over his head this whole time- he had a lot to say when he can get up to a podium and demand from others and then when he is sitting in the seat of Mayor he had no answers for the public. And looks like he did not over see very well anything that was going on and now money isn’t being properly handled. That’s a big deal.
The very biased blog strikes again. If a post doesn’t fit your narrative or speaks ill of certain employees you like it never gets posted! You are doing a disservice to the town by blocking the comments and opinions of all resident of Belmar. Is y that the pint of the blog? You complain about transparency when you’re the one that blocks facts and opinions of others that might not match your own.
As a sometimes reader and poster on this blog, I’d like to address your issue with a hardy, tough sh**.
The administrator of the blog is under no obligation to post everything people say. This is a private forum and the administrator can, and often does, remove, redact, or withhold certain posts. The administrator is not required to explain why. This type of self regulation takes place at X, Facebook, Instagram, and all the other giant social media companies. Mostly to avoid potential legal problems but also at the political and social whims of the mercurial owners. You mention transparency. Transparency is hugely important in the PUBLIC square. No one would argue that. But this isn’t the public square. This is a privately run website. And, as you often see in shop windows, this “owner reserves the right to refuse service to anyone”.
There is good news, however; if the administrator’s rules are not to your liking, you can start your own blog. My guess though is that you’d wind up doing the same thing.
I certanity hope so.
