I would argue that loving America means you fight to keep it alive. That you stand up to those who are bent on destroying democratic institutions, dissolving the separations of power, and ignoring the rule of law.
THAT is patriotism. THAT is what the founding fathers had in mind for this experiment in self governance.

2. Undocumented immigrants pay sales and excise taxes on everyday purchases like groceries, clothing, and gasoline.
3. Many undocumented workers have income and payroll (Social Security and Medicare) taxes automatically withheld from their paychecks by employers. Those who file income tax returns do so using an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) issued by the IRS because they do not have SS numbers.

Bingo, you hit the nail right on the head. But you left out the reason. When I was a boy, and most boys of my time, we all did those jobs. We were never taught that hands on, outdoor work was beneath our dignity like these young people are today and for 30-40 years now. Just look at the young American men, soft and weak. Sir, if a person comes to this country illegally, they’re criminals. Every one of them should be deported Helter skelter. They should be sent to different nasty places on the globe such as Borneo, Greenland, Congo, and small Pacific atolls, etc. and just left there, regardless of their country of origin. All while you pay more for gas, groceries, housing, rent, heat, electric, education, and healthcare, while Congress sits on its hands and does nothing.

As we celebrate Independence Day, I see a lot of signs that say “250 years of freedom”. Unfortunately, the math just doesn’t check out. Let’s try some averages.
Black men- technically freed in 1865 but let’s not forget Jim Crow laws that prohibited all kinds of “freedom”. Civil Rights laws passed in 1964 changed that so let’s split the difference and say 145 years of freedom for them.
Women- after a very hard fought battle, women earned the right to vote in 1920. So let’s say 106 years of freedom for them.
Gay people- laws prohibiting consenting same sex activities ended in 2003. And marriage equality wasn’t made legal until 2015. Oof, only 11 years of freedom for those Americans.
Native Americans- um, let’s just leave them out of this particular equation shall we.
So, take all those and average them out and you get 128 years of freedom.
