The problem is Mayor Gerry was not transparent- despite what he believes- did not communicate with the residents or respond to inquiries;With all things hidden- there is alot to unveil before things can be repaired. The fact is he created a mess and ran out on it to enjoy the summer instead of manning up and finishing his term. However- the positive news for Belmar is that he finished six months early and cleaning up his mess can start now not in six months. Belmar will be better off with out him
Jerry’s ambition to be Mayor was driven by anger. When you act out like that in emotion and rage, you can’t remember what it is that you were actually fighting for. When he won, it was his last day instead of his first day.
Our town’s suffered desperately because of this poor voting decision. Unfortunately, the same people who follow Jerry is the same person who is interim Mayor now.
Don’t be fooled. I was at a meeting when he said that Caitinn was the only one who was loyal to him. Now, along with her she has a team that is loyal to Jerry.
These are not the same Democrats of years ago in BELMAR.
The scariest thing about Doherty’s “town hall” is that a single person went to it. This is a guy who nearly wrecked this town financially, did absolutely nothing to prevent this affordable housing situation we’re in, used the PILOT program to artificially suppress municipal taxes so he could use it as a campaign slogan, and resigned as mayor (Deleted by Editor.)
Do not forget the history of Doherty. Do not fall for his political double talk. He has one interest. Self interest.
Flowers and weeds, sorting and dispersal of their seeds. Rain triggers them to germinate in the least fertile but receptive soil. Let the prevailing forces create an abundance of positive, potent seed and give us rain, but not too much. Ah, cycles, life continues. (And so does the sorting.)

If you are happy with the Democratic Party, and how they are treating this town, just continue to support the interim Mayor who voted alongside with the previous Mayor and caused our cost of living to double in BELMAR.
