A third party company screwed up and registered a bunch of ineligible voters. The vast majority of whom never even knew it (almost none of them actually voted). That company, IDEMIA, has been fired. It should be pointed out that IDEMIA was hired to handle the NJDMV almost 40 years ago. That little fact seems to have escaped you. They also operate in other states like Virginia, Indiana, and Tennessee.
There’s no conspiracy here. It’s a private company that does gov contract work and screwed up. It happens literally every day in all 50 states.
Sherrill is right to not turn anything over to the Feds. This administration has shown time and time again that they can’t be trusted with even the most basic information. Trump has approval ratings in the low 30s and will quite literally do anything to disrupt the midterms. His stated goal is to suppress voters. Not the most comforting strategy in a democracy.
Voter fraud is extremely rare. Mostly because it is extremely illegal. As pointed out in this blog, the only time it resulted in an overturned election, it was the republicans who cheated.
