He absolutely is a breath of fresh air. He is one of the main reasons Jerry decided to resign. If Mike was on the dais three years earlier, our town would never be in the shape it is right now.
Here here…
Timing is everything…
If the Mayor was so righteous she would have defied him too, rather than becoming the only one loyal to him on the dais.
as a result, Costing us tax payers and hurting our wallets.
Whatever happy pill it is you’re taking, I would love to have some.
This guy has been on the council, with a majority vote, for 9 months. What has this breath of fresh air done in those 9 months? And before you say it, yes, Donovan has been on there too and yes, you can ask the same question about her.
The problem is, you’re asking it about her but not about him. That’s a double standard. It’s also the default setting for almost all politics.
Vote for her and he stays on the council. Vote for him and she is off the council. Seems easy to me. I want to keep them both and the only way to do that is to Vote for Donovan for mayor.
Can I borrow your crystal ball?
Let’s be honest, you have no idea how Mr DeBlasio would be as mayor. No one does. He’s been on the council for 9 months. That’s the extent of his governing experience. In that 9 months he hasn’t done much of anything. His rhetoric about what he WILL do (if elected) has certainly increased, but he hasn’t actually done much of anything.
I’ll take the chance on DeBlasio’s 9 months compared to Donovan’s 4 years any day!!
Really? Because Donovan actually has accomplished a great deal in that four years. She’s a type A personality with a passion for fighting for Belmar. I’d like to keep her around.
The only thing I actually know that Mr DeBlasio did, was to vote to remove the height restriction on the Mediterranean project while on the planning board. He doesn’t talk about it much, don’t blame him, but it was an inexplicable gift to the developer.
My math, hold on let me check my work here, yea, my math has Donovan as the real choice. Don’t worry, you’ll get to keep DeBlasio around. They set it up so even if he loses the mayoral race, he stays on the council.
They won’t debate. They do meet the candidates events but they never actually debate. I’ve spoken to both. They share a lot of the same characteristics, ambition, drive, a love of Belmar, etc.
They actually work well together and even seem to like one another. That’s why I’m voting for Donovan. Mike DeBlasio gets to stay on the council either way, with a majority vote, and Donovan remains mayor.
I’m glad DeBlasio doesn’t agree with Donovan. She’s become way too much!!!
Yea and he’s a bed of roses. (Eye roll)
Yes, he is.
Yes he is. And, just like a bed of roses, be careful if you’re thinking of picking him. You may wind up with a hand full of thorns.
I’ll take the chance!

Do not believe every word you hear from either one of them while in public. The real story is behind the scenes.
I’d like to know if/when a debate is happening. Early voting starts October 24th. Mail-in ballots arrive even sooner.
