  1. Im happy something was finally done. Not everyone enjoys these concerts. They should move them somewhere more appropriate.

Remember when real librarians would tell you to be quiet?

Im going to join the party and submit a complaint next time as well.

(Asterisks in name are mine, Editor.)

    1. Please, for all of our sakes, move to another town. The concerts at the library are a wonderful community event. They end early so everyone in the vicinity can still get their beauty sleep.
You want a crusade? How about a Bar A’s beat the clock Tuesdays. Now that is a noise issue.

  2. I bet the complainer has (Deleted by Editor.). I find it hard to believe that the little library concerts get this type of attention from our County Officials and use our tax payer dollars to address this issue while the hundreds of complaints about all the bars in town over the years fall on deaf ears. That is a waste of the paper it’s written on. Give me a break!

  3. How many more complaints until the library is an “animal house”?

If a special ordinance is introduced, will that create a conflict for enforcing sound limits in other parts of town?

Does this event require permits? Like the seafood festival?

Maybe they could move it to the gazebo or marina. I like the concerts but always thought it was odd to have in the neighborhood. It gets bigger every year.

  4. I wonder if our elected Freeholders are aware of how are tax dollars are being spent regarding this issue? There are bigger fish to fry than this.

  5. the notice of violation only applies to Stationary Noise Sources … like the bell tower at St Rose & fountains at lakes … and probably the concrete piano.

  6. And will the folks living by Djais and Main Street bars receive the same application of the law?could be discrimination if not.

  7. Omg! This is wonderful! Does this mean that we can put an end to the attention starved dudes on their Harleys?? They are definitely violating this ordinance.
Oh, I am just thrilled. A world without those idiotically loud things. I’ll feel bad for the guys who drive them though. Those poor men. They are so desperate for people to look at them. Well, they’ll just have to channel that need into something positive for their community I guess. If a band paying music early in the day can be shut down, so can the pointlessly loud exhaust on these motorcycles (and those ridiculous cars too).

    1. What’s ironic is the current admin had talked about potentially banning gas mowers and blowers in the past because of the noise and pollution.

        1. True! Except the one on 16th and main. But other than that one, you’re right, there aren’t any.

          1. currently, Liberty Gas is not open … lots of underground storage tank construction in process.

      1. They should! It’s ridiculous. No one mows their own lawn anymore. And from Wed or Sat the sound of leaf blowers is a constant. I’d prefer a concert every single evening over the sound of whining blowers.

  8. So, someone just needs to complain about something and they come with noise equipment?!?! This whole time we’ve been dealing with Bar A and DJais??? As pathetic as this situation is (complaining about community concerts at the public library, I mean get a life) I am glad that we can now shut down the bars that have loud music til 2am. And we can rid ourselves of the loud cars and motorcycles. I’m sorry that there is someone so sensitive that they want to shut down this family event, but maybe the upside is that we can now stop the real violators.

  9. Wouldn’t Pyanoe Plaza be the perfect place for this? The piano is already there. The town creates these places specifically for people to gather. I heard Dirty Doherty is going to start hosting it. (Deleted by Editor.) I hope they find somewhere better to go.
