  1. Speaking of Ocean Avenue chicanery, Dave’s post on December 31st titled “Knuckleheads” talked about the NJ Governor signing a bill to extend seasonal liquor licenses. Does anyone know where this netted out and what this means for bars in Belmar?

  2. Eugene – you are spot on. Would be terrible for things to disappear in the middle of the night.

I hope Belmar is also holding onto a hefty security deposit from them until a full inspection is compete.

  3. Was the kitchen equipment fully owned by Merri – Makers ? Was the equipment leased ? Belmar might have no claim on the equipment.

  4. Someone turned off the electric which turned off the heat. Pipes burst with lots of damage. The new buildings and grounds guy should have caught this!!

  5. I think it must have been really hard for catering businesses to stay afloat with covid, and I dont care how smart you are or good you are at what you do no one saw this pandemic coming and effecting us the way it has. Its very sad but some businesses had no choice but to go bankrupt, the restaurant industry has taken a big hit and unfortunately I think alot of places will be closed before this ends.

  6. #7 that totally blows my mind , either Tennant was being sleazy and didn’t notify borough or borough knew and wasn’t competent to know of the ramifications of what happens when you have no electricity. Why is the building not winterized at this time of year?

  7. Let’s just hope they only lease the snack bar and not give away our pavilion as a banquet hall like they did with Merry Makers.

  8. I bet you they didn’t even pay security. Additionally, they were afforded a payment plan for their lease. I wonder if they even paid their rent in 2020 quarterly. Any way of finding out ?

Yes supposedly their Quarterly payments made in 2020 were for the 2021 season. I guess they weren’t paying this past year and should of been evicted.
